I don't know FTG. However, I'd strongly recommend SRM intercoolers. Best bang for the buck on the market, hands down.

    Found the thread:
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ew-to-building

As much as I like SRM intercoolers, Lee offers nearly the same part for 3 times less money. Considering that i just spend over a grand for all front control arms replacement, I will go with the cheaper intercoolers.

I see those on eBay. I can't imagine them being any good at that price but I could be wrong. Not only due to the price but the fact that they don't even have a brand name and there is no data.

Regardless I'd love to see logs once you install them.

Just realized that intercoolers I ordered does not come with hoses, and the hoses i have for RS6 intercoolers would not fit. Any good source for the intercooler hoses? Maybe someone has them for sale? Or should I order from Ebay:

In my opinion SRM IC's are the best bang for the buck. There is data on the SRMs and quite cheap. The intercoolers also fit like a glove.

ive been dealing with lee myself. hes done a lot of R&D on the equipment hes offering on ebay. ive spoken with him a few times hes got lots of knowledge and hes looking to upgrade stuff and provide quality stuff at a none huge company price. for instance you can get a set of pistons for large V8 motor cranking out 800+ horsepower for around 700-900(http://www.krepower.com/Pontiac%20New%20Products.htm) just for proof. how is it that a 4 cylinder audi motor can cost nearly the same? ive got some RS6 turbos that are being worked on by lee, last we spoke hes making some billet internals for them and believe they are going to do some port/polish work on them aswell. they are going to clean up the wastegate areas to allow some better flow out of them in order to get better flow and likely smoother boost curves. I am looking into some intercoolers like the ones you are looking at aswell. from what we spoke about he has gone over things like welds and had the quality of welds improved aswell as some previous fitment issues some other retailers were dealing with hes used a fine toothed comb from the conversations we have had on the phone. I myself will likely be picking some stuff from him in the future. just need to get my money in order and some other life crap sorted out b4 I jump into another audi build.

anyway hes a stand up guy hes been into building cars for over 20+ years.

What ICs come apart at the welds? These should not be compared to the srm or other brands especially when there isn't any data. Can you or Lee provide some sort results from the R&D? Take a look at flyboy's graph of compiled data

I'm curious, can you please post up boost actual and iat?

I cannot provide data yet. Just trying to make a quality product with a not so high price. Once i have info i will gladly provide what ever you like but as i mentioned im on a budget and have yet to do an allroad build. There is plans in the future but right now its outta the budget. I would agree with anyone that if you want truely tested and proven products buy from a big name company. They have millions invested and can provide data from years of experience. All the big name retailers had to start somewhere. I Dont know all their background info but perhaps one of them started out as a single guy in a garage who had an idea, and now they are known world wide and sell millions yearly.

Those intercoolers look to be the same intercoolers that can be had on alibaba for $80. They are worse than stock.

Search CX racing intercoolers on here. The B5 guys hopped on that shit years ago. Type in audi s4 intercoolers on alibaba. Those cheaper IC cores are simply garbage and cool less than stock.

I am not defending the ebay IC's, nor do I own them. But they are a newer version than the tests of CX Racing ones years ago. Supposedly much better, from newer threads I saw, but still not in SRM/ER league, nor is the price. There is also another ebay set from Project:B5 that are supposedly decent. P:B5 has two, the R1 that is supposedly quite good, but same price range as SRM and not as good. And a less expensive one that is much less $ and better than the ~$200 ebay ones. More charge rows and better end tanks, etc..

The CX Racing ones in the tests years ago were complete crap. And yes, less than stock qualities. I think they were also painted/coated all the way through that killed the conductivity and cooling too. But they were revised and supposedly better. Again, not defending them or saying they are "good", but they are improved from the ones in all the B5 threads years back.. And supposedly at least a notable improvement over stock. I *think* I remember seeing them perform comparable to OEM RS4. I may be wrong, I do not remember what thread it was..

Do I understand correctly from the posts here, that Lee buys these intecoolers from China for $80, and resells them for $200? Hope it's not the case, as next time "happy" customers may do something to his shop.

I'm not sure if he does, but even if so- what's the problem? No one is forcing the customer to buy them. Obviously they feel comfortable with the price if they choose to purchase them.

OVER 550 100% POSITIVE FEEDBACK.... That means I do what I say I am gonna do and I do whatever it takes to make it right and I am selling a GREAT PRODUCT. What have you sold here that can say anything like that........ GO AHEAD.... ILL WAIT.... EBAY ID ftgmotorsports

Next time get your facts straight... come to the source and ask me. I got NOTHING to hide.

Lee, can you give us some details on your product? Do you manufacture it yourself, or is are you just a dealer/re-seller. Do you have any data to support your intercoolers?

I will admit the eBay link does look similar to the CXRacing ICs I have seen, so I didn't really question it. The generic details in the ad are kind of weird as no brand name etc... is listed.

He is an amazing guy and friend and works very hard. We have done a few projects together and we are sponsors at a disabled kids event this weekend called the cupcake meet here in dallas.

Should you have any issues regarding what I have done for Steve and his family you don't have to donate. You are not required to. You can go look all over the audi groups online and see what I am saying is true.

You don't seem to be able to comprehend my statements. CX Racing is a brand, not a manufacturer. I never said that your products are garbage nor did i say where they were sourced. I agree you don't know what i'm trying to say. Inviting me down to Texas to real talk? What?

    2. I do NOT buy Alibaba stuff and sell it for more. This is seriously a bogus statement and your little pictures amount to nothing.
Okay thats fine, you say you don't source the items from alibaba, do you source them direct from a heat exchange company in china? No big deal some chinese items are perfectly fine. You don't have to answer this, but that will only prove that they are indeed 100% chinese made intercoolers.

How is your product great? Be more specific, do you have any data to argue against the known fact that all sidemounts sourced from china are sub-par? This is pure speculation and I have nothing against you or your company.

I lost my wifes allroad and he lost EVERYTHING. What kind of people are you to say such bad things at a persons tragic loss? I mean really... who does that?
Not us apparently since nobody said anything negative.

I am not a reseller... I was asked to NOT promote my business here anymore by AZ so I cannot be specific in supporting too many details at this time. I am trying my hardest to not promote them. I can tell you that there is supporting data out there along with flow tests. I plan to get some NEW data here shortly and just had these completely documented by someone.

The guy that started this post actually received my personal set of intercoolers which were to be tested. He told me he needed them asap so I went on my birthday and shipped them to him to help him out. I went out of my way on my birthday last week to help him and even sold him my PERSONAL set so he got them on time. I knew the warehouse could not get them to him fast enough. I guess if that makes me a bad guy and crappy seller and selling bad stuff then I am guilty. The bottom line here is I dont sell stuff I would not put on my car and my wifes car. PERIOD. I was trying to get that set installed and some testing and fitment shots done. He said he needed them and I could not get them to him faster than me sending him mine. The orders for new ones were on hold due to weather.

If you look at the manufacturer you will see it listed there. I dont hide who I work with. I have been working hard with them to get all the product lines updates and data to support where necessary.

Okay, I see that these are sold as XSPower/SSAC now. ProjectB5 is selling them for $425 so you have a great price on them. I'd love to see the data when you get it- feel free to PM me or post on the allroad Facebook group.

I saw early version of CX racing intercooles about 2.5 years ago. Quality of welding on them was terrible, so I returned them to CX, and bought OEM RS6 intercoolers. Based on the Ebay pictures Lee's intercoolers look way better than original CX. Unfortunately I am out of town, and intercoolers are shipped rirectly to RAI motorsport in Baltimore for install. I will ask the shop owner to take some pictures and possibly provide some logs. Problem with the logs is that between intercoolers, spider hose, front control arms, I am already way over budget, (over $3000 for parts and labor), this is one of the reason I was looking for cheaper intercoolers. Proper dyno logs are not cheap, but I will ask Ray if he can give me any deal on dyno run and logs.

Do a street log if you can, all the comparisons here on AZ were on the street. A real world 3rd gear pull would most likely yield better results than standing still with two fans blowing at the ic's.

the pix in the auction above are actually my pix on my garage floor at my house of the actual products I sell. I sell them for very cheap and I dont make much on the sale of these. I could ask more.... ....... I sell quality at reasonable prices.... NO ITS NOT PERFECT EVERYTIME.... but it is better than CX RACING, ALIBABA and all that other shite....

I stand behind my stuff.... and I would never sell something that would not go on my personal car.

I'd advise editing your posts. You're probably on thin ice with what you're posting, and I'd hate to see you banned.

I myself have been on the phone with numerous vendors for parts on either of my cars 2001 allroad and 2007 A4. Ive put countless parts into the A4 as you can see in my sig. I have respect for anyone who knowing the huge amount of competition out there in the aftermarket world who can say what i have in bold above. As ive mentioned above hes trying to put out products that are reasonably priced and a good quality. He is standing behind his product, he has offered to pay ppl to get him the data that many are looking for. I think he deserves some respect. No offence to big name retailers and ive bought many parts from numerous big name vendors but none of them have ever offered me cash for dyno pulls to be done on my car.

To be clear... I have no idea whom FTG Motorsport is, I do not buy intercoolers from him > thru him > nor sell to him.

Lee and I have no affiliation either, lol. Lee tuned one of my vehicles a while back, that is it.
^Wait a minute... who the hell is LEE ADAMS, I figured we were referring to British Turbo....

P:B5 has no affiliation WHATSOEVER to either of these claims!

nick i think you are thinking of a different lee ... britishturbo not lee adams.

i dont even know where to start with all this bs. its just a sad state of affairs on multiple fronts.

    1. who cares if someone resells something for $80 for $200 ... if you see 200 in value and they help you with what you are after, whats wrong with paying someone? people here act like making a profit is evil. pretty sure thats how a business works. its not a non-profit organization.
    2. all roads lead to china.
    3. people here are brand whores ... over brands that are all hilarious to begin with
    4. you guys ever wonder why that random pipe on that intercooler is bent funny? its because nick made the first set and they didnt fit right so he welded a random pipe to the endtank to make it work for the time being ... and monkey see monkey do
    5. all that really matters is the customer is happy with their experience and product. vendors offer you choices and options - which choice is best? thats for the customer to choose based on their parameters (cost, performance, made in usa or not, etc etc)
