B8 S4s with Stage 2+ tunes

Looking for a reputable shop to do a stage 2+ pulley on my car, have any of you had good experiences? Looking to go with APR.
According to their website dealer locator they pointed me towards a VW stealorship, or a tuning shop GRD in West Chicago.

Anyone with B8 S4 offer any input? Or anyone with the godly 3.0t?

Message SRFRBOY.. he is local and just went stage II on his 3.0T S5. From what I gather, he is in love with it so far and the shop that did it was good. I dont remember the exact shop but he is a part of the cars and coffee group that meets on Sat/Sun.

Don't go to GRD, check the cars and coffee thread as well a guy named randy just went stage 2 (could be srfrboy??), if you wanted GIAC/AWE I could point you in the right direction!

I wouldn't mind GIAC/AWE if the price was better. I was leaning towards APR bc of their program switching/ direct port flash.

Any reason why you don't recommend GRD?

I had a gti done by them back in the day when they were on Ogden in Naperville, not a great experience, not horrible just lots to be desired. Read through some other reviews (here, google, etc) and it seems it hasn't gotten better and possibly worse. Just wouldn't send someone to a so-so place when you have A+ places to chose from.

Pricing should be similar if you catch the sales, plus the transmission tune if you are dsg (tcu) is amazing as well.

I can attest to Sal at Perfect Power. He has done plenty of work on the GT3 and is a lover of all things German. The guy is friendly and extremely informative. Wont BS you either.

I went to Auto Art in Glenview for my APR Stage 2 Tune. The owner Larry is an awesome guy and knows his stuff. I felt that he was there to answer all of my questions and pointed me in the right direction when asked. I had a small issue after the tune... Engine smelled like antifreeze a week after the tune. I drove over to the shop. He move a couple of cars around and got me in that minute and looked around to see if there was an issue. (no leak, just a burp). My point is... He valued my business and looked at my car right then with no charge to do so. Just a great place.
