AEB or AMB Replacement Cylinder Head?

    Hi guys,
    I need some advice.
My cylinder head is cracked and I cant find a decent AMB replacement locally but,
I found an AEB so, I was thinking about making the switch.

I only have a 2871R eliminator & realize that the benefits of the AEB head won't be realized
unless if rev higher so, now I'm thinking about building the head & getting an INA intake manifold.

Like everything else on this car, things snowball quickly!
It looks like to get the valves, springs, retainers, guides, seals, machining, intake manifold & throttle body,
I'd be looking at about $2000.

My question is, for $2000 is it worth revving a 2871R to 8000 rpms?
Would the extra power I'd make be worth it?
Can a 2871R even keep up at 8000 rpms?
has anyone seen dynographs of a high revving eliminator?

Now I'm thinking that if I do build the head,
I might as well get an EFR.
    Like I said, SNOWBALL...

    Thank you for any input.

I rev to 7600RPM with a Garrett 50 trim on my stock AEB head. The point of building the head would be to rev it past 8k RPM mark. I say with your turbo just slap the stock AEB head on.

the 2871R hits its peak before the stock redline (6500), revving it out to 8000 isn't going to buy you anything. Furthermore, an AEB head with a 2871R is just going to cost you low end torque with little to nothing in return. I posted a thread on this about a year ago and the overwhelming consensus was to stay with the stock AMB head with the 2871R, even on a 2.0l setup: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...a-2-0l-stroker

Get AMB if possible for the smaller turbos, but if you have the opportunity to get the AEB as a deal go for it because it will be marginal difference if any and actually a loss as Matt said but it will prolly be to negligible to notice.

I would just buy an AEB head. I have had 2 AMB heads crack on me. When I changed to AEB, I didnt noticed a difference in performance, but I had a GT3071r on a stock displacement engine.

I did. Another factor besides the low end TQ drop is losing SAI, which I didn't want to do given I run a high-flow cat.
