Sound question - How many tunes does our deck hold? - 2012 B8 with Bang and Olufsen??

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I miss the 6 CD stacker in the B6.

Am using an SD card - 16 GB. Have only used Sirius before but the SD card has much better sound.

    Thanks!

    dont quite understand your question?

If each song you have is 5 megs, and you have a 16gb card, you can have 3200 songs. put 2 sd cards in and thats 6400 songs, a tad more than 20 songs per cd.

You can also load your cd's to the hard drive, so you dont even need the sd cards. That i dont know how many songs, at least 3000 is what ive heard.

I haven't figured out how to load a CD to the drive from the player... is there a trick to it? I hit Import and it doesn't give me options....

... MMI says it cannot import since file is "full". There are 2 SD card ports and both say the same thing. Sorry I dod not know how much data each song is - just trying to figure out if this MMI Jukebox is worth the hassle setting up.

Good thought - this MMI Jukebox is just a pain in the ass.

Another option I did not want but came with the whole Navi pkg.

Because then you have to use iTunes, which is something that more than half of the US population does not have the misfortune of being forced to use that piece of shit.

120gb iPod Classic, wouldn't touch the iTunes software with a digital 10ft pole. Other software works with them, and they're cheap from the ebays.

Best solution in my opinion. Playlists make life so much greater.

Why didn't you want the ability to control an iPod using the cars controls? It's pretty helpful in my opinion.

It won't copy direct from a store-bought CD to the jukebox (which my previous Lexus did). I think you can copy MP3's from a CD you burn or something like that. As a result, I find the jukebox useless.

What do you use thats better and actually works? I tried to use a few of the third party software options without finding anything that could actually sync music and such properly. I cant really say I tried very hard to make it work though as I have a deep disdain for ipods after switching to android.

Last application I used was called WinAMP, which was bought out by AOL a few years ago. Not sure where it went after that, I've been using the same version since then and pretty much the same music collection. I haven't heard a new CD in the last 2 years that has compelled me to update my library. If I want "new" I go to Sat-radio or Pandora, which isn't that often. I have played with the SD cards, but prefer my epic playlists on the iPod. And since I've got roughly 40k songs on my iPod, I can listen to music for a year and not hear the same thing twice.

To help the OP I highly suggest looking into this or the SD card route.

There's a VCDS/VAG-COM tweak to allow that. The system knows how, some Audi lawyers probably made them turn it off.

^ Thanks but I have since burned all CDs to iTunes and got rid of all but a few of the CDs I had. As some others suggest, I just keep an iPod in the glove box and deal with the sound degradation from the compression.

Maybe, but some dealers don't like doing VAG-COM tweaks. See http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...-complete-list (you can buy your own cable, find a friendly person locally, or try an independent shop that specializes in VW/Audi service.)

Man i had to work on a computer at work the other day, 286, it took me forever to find a floppy to pull a program off of it.

I had to order one of these also for the computer, i was surprised they still sell these!
