Issues with axle replacement - wrong equipment?

Ordered a new axle and hardware a few weeks ago and finally got around to installing (or attempting to install) it with a mechanic buddy of mine this weekend. Axle came out no problem, but the new hardware was not the correct size to attach it back to the transmission. Looks like I ordered the flange bolts for an auto trans instead of manual. However, we tried using hte OEM hardware to attach the new axle, but those bolts wouldn't fit into the new axle. Am I doing something wrong on the install? Shouldn't the OEM bolts fit properly? Could they have sent me the wrong axle? I'll reach out to ECS as well, but just wanted to get AZ's opinion as there is a good possibility I was just doing something wrong

Axle I ordered: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES248993/ - this is the part number for a manual trans, so it should be the correct one.

new hardware: http://www.ecstuning.com/ES8637/ - looks like these are for auto, not manual. if i want new hardware I'd need these: http://www.ecstuning.com/Audi-C5_A6-...xles/ES469134/ (these look like my OEM ones)

Pic of the OEM bolts (longer ones) compared to the aftermarket ones I ordered - I def messed up with this:

Pic of trying to fit the OEM bolt into the new axle. Shouldn't this fit?

Thanks for any ideas or help guys. I can easily just order the manual trans bolts, but I want to make sure that I have the right axle if the OEM bolts don't fit.

That inner CV doesn't look like anything I've installed on a modern (10 year old) Vw or Audi. It looks like what I used to install on old VW bugs, or maybe a golf or Jetta. But I may just be thinking of the auto trans axles too...since, obviously 99% of these cars are Auto.
I don't know...but I don't like it. Compare your old axle / CV to that one. If they're not exactly the same dimensions and almost exactly the same in appearance ECS sent you the wrong one. Nothing against ECStuning, but hopefully they won't screw you on return shipping/ exchange etc..

You have the wrong inner CV joint.. That is a 100mm joint (uses 8mm bolts). The correct inner CV joint uses 10MM bolts.

Oops, I didn't read the post thoroughly enough to note that the bolts were too large in diameter for the holes ...

Thanks Scotty, just the info I was looking for. Wonder if I messed up when ordering the axle, I don't see any options regarding the inner CV joint. Maybe ECS just sent me the wrong one. I'll contact them now that I have the correct information.

As always, really appreciate the quick help from everyone!

There is no option for the inner join. Either the wrong part was ordered or the wrong part was shipped.
