    Spring rates.

My S6. When i bought it the suspension was in need of replacement and most of the bolts were frozen. So i cut the OEM springs off, threw the knackered shocks away, and fitted H&R sports springs with Bilstein sports shocks. It looks good, and rides 1000 times better than when i picked it up.

Trouble is the wife hates it. Too harsh over the bumps. And Illinois is the land of the bump, it would seem.

So i'm looking for options. Ideally, i'd like to soften it up by just fitting stock springs from another variant of the A6 platform.

Does anyone have a table of the different spring rates available? I appreciate the car is going to sit higher than now, but i guess going back to stock ride height is not the end of the world - if it avoids us getting a minivan....

    Thanks in advance.

I feel like redneck truck had something listed with factory spring rates, but I can't quite remember.

I believe he has rs6 springs in there now, but don't remember what shocks. Pretty low for a factory spring.

Dang, really? I had quite the opposite reaction when I added this setup to my car. I wonder if there is something else that could be happening (possibly incorrect part #s on your new springs/shocks?).

Sorry I can't directly answer your question, but I am just very surprised by your experience.

Really. At speed on the freeway it's fine. Around town on smooth streets it's awesome. At low speeds on regular roads around town, or the roads immediately near our house it's like driving over a washboard. They are the correct springs and shocks.

There are two seasons in Illinois. Road plowing season and road repairing season.

    I need softer springs.
