The clutch on my B5 2.8 is engaging very high(pedal Height) but it feels
like it is a long way from giving out. Is this normal for a worn out clutch or
is something else possibly wrong...slave cylinder, adjustment or ??? Also, how much
should it cost to have the clutch replaced?? I am also considering just replacing the clutch
myself...anyone done this service on their A4, and have advice on this job?

    Regards
    Guil

Is there any noticeable slipping of the clutch or just a high engagement point?

Edit: How many miles are on the clutch? A high(er) engagement point does not always mean your clutch is bad.

I wouldn't replace it unless it starts slipping. The engagement point on these cars is high. That's just the way it is. There is no adjustment that I know of.

B5's have a notouriously high engagement point. That alone doesn't mean your clutch is hooped.

Very normal for the OEM stock clutch since it doesn't take much movement of the pedal/slave to take all of the pressure off the disk.
