SOLVED: Cluster Center Display not functioning, blacked out

UPDATE 3/1/14: I took the instrument cluster out and apparently the center display screen is normally hanging on by the connector on the back. There are no brackets or screws to support it to the cluster board. I disconnected it and reconnected it and viola! The display is functioning again.

    Hey guys,

Just trying to see if anyone has an idea of why this might be. But yesterday the center LCD display in the instrument cluster stopped turning on. The gauges work and light up normally. Is there a fuse that controls this display on its own that I should be checking? Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Is it happening all the time? Or was it a one time occurrence? No I don't believe the center screen has a separate fuse. If it only happened once it could have just been a fluke software hiccup. If it continues to happen, you may need to take it to the dealer.

Is there still a button by the cruise control that turns it off like with the B5's? Maybe you hit it by accident?

The screen has been blacked out since yesterday and not once did it turn on. Also, I don't think there is an on/off switch on the cruise control

I recently had the same problem, turns out the issue was with the battery. Since its been swapped (two weeks now) the issue has not resurfaced.

I'd agree with you but then we'd both be wrong.
I have neither the time, nor the crayons to explain this to you properly.

Might try a reset of the MMI.

I tried an MMI reset and disconnected battery. Unfortunately, neither worked
