    Lag in RS5

I took my car out today after getting it back from the dealer. I feel like the car has lost a lot of jump. For example before i would tap on the gas and the car jumps now it seems like it takes a split second for the transmission to engage.
I took a video but the sound isn't clear so i'm not posting it but you can see the RMP spike and then the speedometer starts crawling up

    Any suggestions?

Then maybe a software update was automatically performed when connecting your car to the mothership or they courtesy filled you tank with 87 oct?

Call them to ask if they updated software in any way. Also if they filled the car with cheap fuel, that could also explain lower power.

I don't think that's it. What we discussed on that other thread is basically the clutch being grabby on light throttle application. Part of me wants to say that what OP describes is how a clutch operated transmission works. Just like when driving a manual transmission, one has to give it some throttle first before letting out the clutch, so it is natural for the revs to climb before the car actually gets going as opposed to a torque converter that has pretty much an instant transfer. With the DSG it is more or less noticeable depending on how soon one gets on the throttle as the clutch automatically starts engaging as soon as you let go off the brake.

There has to be an adjustment that can be made. It just doesnt feel the same. It almost feels heavier if that makes sense

Hmmh, something else got damaged perhaps when you drove through those potholes? Does it feel like you are always starting on an uphill slope or with the parking brake on?

I like the 87 octane theory, did they do a courtesy fill up on it? I just had mine in for the 5k service, only update is the steering wheel software update, addresses some issues users were experiencing in sub-zero temps. Per SA, zero impact to anything else regarding the vehicle, including change in steering feel, as a few others have noted. As I understand it, Audi SA is supposed to ask if you want updates done vs. just doing them. I refused steering wheel update and had to sign a doc stating so.

How many miles do you have on the vehicle?

so the dealer checked it out found no errors recorded. they mentioned if anything let the gas burn out as much as possible refill with brand gasoline and see if anything changes. the damages to the wheel didn't do any other damage thank goodness. anyway back to driving

Is it possible to check estimated clutch life remaining via OBD scan on these cars? Any funny smells in the car? I'd request this to be run to make sure one of the service guys wasn't out having too much fun in my car...

Some people drive in D or S cruising along at 50mph and floor it and expect instant pull. I'm sure what your experiencing is downshift 'lag'. Its normal.

Drive it in manual mode and I'm sure the "lag" your describing will be gone.
