    D3S Bulb Replacement Options?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My A4 2009's Adaptive Xenon bulbs are on their way out. The color has started to change and they are not as bright.

Has anyone ever replaced the D3S Bulbs on an Adaptive Xenon A4? Is it easy to do?

Also what are my options I've been reading about these new Philips Xenon X-tremeVision which are suppose to be insane but they are around 250$ for the pair.

I need to replace my bulbs as well...they're super dim. HIDConcept has Blesk lights for $110/pair, or OEM Osram's for $56/ea. The X-tremeVisions's look pretty badass though lol.

I recently replaced mine with these Phillips 4300k. They produce a nice cutoff even with the US b8 housings. If you are looking for an oem 4300k i would highly recommend these. If you want a color change I would go with the Phillips 6000k Ultinon. I originally ordered the Osram 4300k but they turned out to be counterfeit, so be careful what you buy.

Opening up an old thread but I need your help guys.

My friend is ending her lease on her Audi A4 and her left bulb burned. Since she went over the 80,000km (80,400km to be exact... ) it's not covered and the dealer wants 800$ as they have to replace both for color match !!!
She has 2 months left.... SO
Has anyone ever tried Cheap Ebay D3S bulbs?

I would look up hid concept on ebay, I feel like cheaper ones would either have a bulb out displayed on the dash and or the light burning out quickly. I'd spend the 100$+ and be worry free. All those ebay ones you've listed also had 0 sold, which probably should tell you something about that product.

I've ordered from DDM Tuning for my bike and other car and have no issues since I installed them over a year ago. I currently have bulbs from KrautoLED in the A4 which look great and no codes. Communications with them is a PITA so if you get the wrong or defective bulbs (which I did), it takes a while for a replacement. DDM tuning would be my suggestion.

DDM has good bulb kits for HID conversion. Still going strong in my Ducati. 35w Kit is dirt cheap too. D3S bulbs are certainly more expensive however.

I would be careful when ordering branded bulbs off ebay. I recently bought a pair of "Philips" 4300K bulbs from a supposedly reputable seller in Germany and they turned out to be fake. The packaging and everything looked like genuine Philips, but comparing it to a 100% genuine Philips bulb brought up some differences, such as spot welds, insulation color and salt color / amount. The light output with these was also extremely poor and the color was a weird sort of yellowish-purple, even though they were supposed to be new bulbs.

Mine seem to be on there way out too,
I'm guessing there is no option for 3k bulbs yet?
