Got a chance to drive a 6spd 2010 S5, and it was absolutely awesome. I've driven the 335i and 335is and was much more impressed with the Audi. Filmed a short review on the car. Any thoughts/feedback would be awesome

MI roads are truly bad if not the worst, especially now after the snowstorms we have craters in our roads as if a war swept by dropping bombs.

Great video like how you guys went into depth and promoted the manual version of the S5 perhaps a little exhaust sound "revs" would have been a nice addition as that is a big plus for the 4.2 V8s

Thanks for the feedback! The roads really are bad. Makes me scared to bring my car here. I'll make sure to include some revs in the future!

    Cool vid!

    Some technical feedback:

If you plan on doing more of these (and you should), get proper lavalier mics, or a boom. The interior mic setup was not good. RØDE makes some nice ones for a reasonable price. Countryman makes great kit, but is a bit more expensive.

Duck the soundtrack a bit more when you are doing your VO. I found they were competing a bit too much.

Some of your footage was way over-compressed, even at HD. There was some really obvious macroblocking in the 'bonnet view' cam. GoPros have a 'cinema mode' called ProTune (I use Hero3 Blacks, but I think the earlier ones do as well). That'll give you the most information to work with in post, so when you edit and colour grade, the PQ doesn't go south (as easily).

That opening montage? Nuke it. I think in that space you wound up using every possible wipe available in your NLE. That's like writing your thesis using every font you have on your computer.

Above all though? Just keep making 'em. You'll only get better by keeping at it. Good work!

I had to make that decision back in 2010 -- and made the same one! Cheers. And the sound of the V8 is intoxicating in comparison to the 6. The 335i is a nice car, but the S5 trumps it year for year.

Thanks for all the feedback! Definitely agree on the interior mic setup.

    DML, excellent choice!
