Just ordered my SQ5

Hello everyone,

Please ignore the screen name as it was created when I was originally looking for an A4. This past Wednesday, I ordered a Premium Plus SQ5 with Estoril blue, magma red interior, carbon atlas inlays, 21" wheels, MMI Nav, and Bang Olufsen sound system. The dealership already had their own pre-order for inventory and they were able to change it to accommodate our order. The car should arrive roughly at the end of April or early May at the latest. Looking forward to seeing what other people are doing to their SQ5's as I plan on modding it heavily after warranty is out. I came from a G35 twin turbo so engine mods are in order for this SQ5 lol.

Incl destination ($895) came in a little under $59K. Not the best price and not the worst either. None of the area dealerships want to come down much on the price.

My first time audi, I bought a 2013 premium 2.0T Q5, about a year ago so since its a base model it cannot be compared to SQ5...but I am seriously considering a trade for 13/14 Q5 PP 3.0T or SQ5PP or Porsche Macan 2014 (lower trim).

I heard there is a nice loyalty credit for second audi purchase is that what your getting at when you say first time audi buyer??

We really considered a Macan and another Cayenne. The Cayenne was bigger than we needed. The Macan wasn't available to view in person, so I had to consider it based on photos and specs. It appears to be smaller in the cargo area than the SQ5. I'm sure it's a very nice car to drive, but ultimately the SQ5 offers more for the money than the Macan. I think either would be a great choice, depending on your needs. My experience with Porsche vehicles is that you are probably better off passing on the first year of any new model. This was certainly true of the Cayenne (ours is a 2004, the launch was 2003. Glad I waited!).

Dealer discounts off MSRP seem to vary quite a bit depending on your region. Around here, Audi dealers rarely offer much if anything off list, especially on any Q5 variant which sell quickly anyway...

The best 'no hassle' deal on an Audi is the 6% off MSRP pricing you can get if you are a member of the Audi Club of North America... Anyone can join ($50), don't need to be a current owner. Only catch is you have to be a member six months before you are eligible for the pricing. SQ5 is included, Q5 hybrid is excluded...

Audi's 'loyalty' program offers an additional $1,000 rebate on the Q5 (varies by model) if your household can prove ownership of a 2001 or later Audi.

There is also an Audi 'conquest' program which offers $1,000-$3,000 for current owners of BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes-Benz vehicles, but only on certain models, and not on the Q5 or SQ5.

I ended up getting Audi supplier pricing through my dealer. I didn't ask about Audi loyalty. I've only owned one other Audi in my life, and I didn't finance it. I'm not sure if that would qualify me or not...

My SQ5 had a sticker price of $61,420. After destination and dealer prep charges, I ended up with a total of $58,133.80.

wow thats pretty fast, some people waited 6 months or more for a Q5 2.0T they ordered... Ingolstadt must be caught up on the backlog now.

that is really fast - great timing . they must've just caught it and configured it to your specs just before production. i'm also in California, so my wait is 2-3 weeks (or more) longer than for those who have east coast deliveries.

Ouch on the 2-3 week longer wait! The salesman said 'you may be getting lucky if I can change our inventory order in time.' 10-15 minutes later we had confirmation that they were able to change it to out specs. Cut the wait time to nearly half of the norm!

I managed a similar deal with a car that was already in the dealer's build pipeline. I ordered, or really we modded the dealer's existing order to my specs, in mid-January, and the car is in port at Brunswick right now. It might be here as soon as the end of the week.

Another Maryland SQ5! What is funny is a month after I got my SQ5 my ex-wife who lives 10 minutes from me got one too after seeing mine. I have seen a white one around as well. I haven't seen Estoril blue in person but it looks gorgeous in pics. Good luck!

Post divorce jealousy? lol My wife and I fell in love with the Estoril blue. We couldn't find one with the Magma interior though. Are there ever any meets in our area? I'm in Rockville BTW.

I am in Rockville as well. She went to buy a black SQ5 from Audi of Silver Spring but someone (apprently osideaudi) snatched it up right before she was going to put a deposit on it. She had to go up to CT to get her black SQ5.

Yes!! Seatbelt chime delete, have the LEDs on all the time and brighter too, gear indicator on dashboard, open doors, windows, and sunroof with keyfob. Just starting toying with it.

your salesperson should have this info. i'm pretty sure the ship name is in your order tracking when they look it up. but if you want to figure it out on your own like i did - and i know there are better ways to do it, but fwiw this is what i did:

do you have an idea of approximate week it was built? how about an approx date it left Emden? approx date it will be at your dealership?

i googled "track audi shipment" and got a ton of helpful avenues that folks took to figure out ship names and track ships. there are a number of east coast ports, and you will need to do some digging online to see which port your area dealers most likely get their cars from. knowing an approximate date the car would be at my dealership, and knowing it would land in San Diego, i figured it out. my car was built a week earlier than expected. i didn't know my ship's name, but in looking at schedules with the build week date in mind, i narrowed it down to 2 ships. i got lucky - the one i watched (and screencapped) pass by the Panama Canal webcams was the one carrying my car.

It is definitely smaller than the Q5, largely because of the steeply-raked rear glass. I stalked the parking deck at PCNA until I could see one, before I made the final decision to order an SQ instead of a Macan. PCNA = Porsche Cars North America - I live nearby.

I have seen a couple of Macans on the road now. They do look nice, but definitely smaller in the back. I have no doubt that a Macan equipped in a similar fashion to my SQ5 would be $75K or more.
