Well long time no post, 96 2.8 auto q, 200k +. Recently developed a thump/clunk from rear. Can hear thump when letting off the throttle, clunk is loud while turning a corner esp after a good drive. On jack stands rear end feels smooth no noise while turning wheels, cv boots all intact. Suspect carrier bearing, driveshaft cv's ? Control arm bushings look ok, both front and rear. Have an oil leak at front drive output on right side, related? Thoughts, anyone?

Make sure the diff is not low on oil, and all related suspension components are tight.
