Changed Air Filter - Now car won't run

I changed my air filter last night and didn't start my car. Stock air box. This morning the car won't run. I pulled the air box lid and it runs fine. Shook the wires going to the ICM's and no change in idle. Put the lid back on and connect it to the MAF. Car won't run. It surges up and down and eventually dies out.

With the air box off, if i put my hand in front of the MAF it immediately starts running bad. Not completely covering the MAF, just very slightly impeding air flow.

Any ideas what is going on?

Unplug the MAF. Does it run?

Get back out there and check everything! Maybe something got into the intake and is blocking your air flow sensor.

Was car running correctly before? Or is this just some regular maintenance gone wrong?

    Runs without the MAF.

I found the air flow straighter grid on the ground. Put it back into the MAF, unhooked the battery for 10 min to reset the computer. It runs great. That's what I get for working in the dark. Thanks for looking everyone.

Unhooking battery does not reset our computer codes... so in the future you'll see some codes for the car running funny possibly. Just keep that in mind.
