Oil pressure warning then engine dies

Got in my car to drive to work. 1 block in the oil pressure warning comes up and I hear a clicking noise coming from the engine. Call the shop and tell them I'm bringing it in, while on the phone the engine dies. So now I'm sitting here waiting for a tow truck.

The car is an 05 B7 with Quattro and it has 76k on it. It's my first Audi and I've had it about a month now. What should I expect?

Oil pressure light=turn car off and check engine bay and level. Shouldn't try to limp it anywhere! Could be a lot of things, I had a similar issue and turned out to be a damaged windage tray and my whole top end had to be rebuilt. Luckily under warranty. Good luck!

Sorry to hear about your Audi experience. Most people here enjoy their cars with little to some issues. Some people like yourself have major issues jump up and bite them. Sorry it happened to you so early. As a side note this is what causes Audi resale values to plummet and allows some folks to enjoy these cars when they normally wouldnt be able to. This in turn creates the necessity to do DIY's which enriches the community and allows for even more to work on and enjoy their cars.
Good luck with the issue--hopefully its just a minor thing like a sensor or something.

Thanks for the tips, guys! Sounds like it's not that serious. I'll know more tomorrow, so I'll keep you posted

It looks like the frigid cold here in Wisconsin caused the oil to thicken and it wasn't getting distributed through the engine.

I've never known much about cars, but I've really enjoyed reading the forum and am trying to absorb as much info as possible. It doesn't sound like its that bad based on what I've heard from the mechanic
