It's been covered here multiple times, search and you'll find it. 235s will give you less hassle and I think exactly what you're looking for. A bit too skinny of a tire for 9.5 rim, but that's just me. Quite a few members run this tire here. I'm running 245s, but I'm on stock height and slightly rolled front fenders. Once you lower, you'd need to roll and slightly pull fenders in order to run anything wider than 235s.

If you want to make your life easier, consider 19x9 or 19x8.5 (factory size on the B8 cars). Wheels will be cheaper and lighter, and you won't need to run weird tire sizes.

Just curious why you want something so wide. Are you tracking the car or is this purely for looks? Stock S4 size is 18x8, and the RS4 has 19x9.

A wider wheel/tire will weigh more, cost more, reduce wet traction, and make the steering feedback lousy. It also leads to fitment issues and fear of rubbing.

This is 19x8.5 ET35 with 10mm spacers. I will put on 15mm in the rear in the spring. I have 225/35/19 for my tires, enough stretch to never rub! You could easily do 19x9, or even 9.5 without spacers, but it will come down to the right offset.

How far do you plan to lower it? That will make a big difference on what sort of wheels/tires you can run.

I ran 225/35s on my monoblocks, they were a +46 offset and I was running a 15mm spacer, you'll probably want a 5mm in the front and a 7or 8 in the rear. If you want to have a little stretch but nothing stupid, a 235/35 is what I would recommend. But you could get away with a 245/35 if you didn't go too terribly low.

225 width tire on a 9.5" wide wheel is unsafe. Tire isn't designed for that. 7.5-9.0" is the range for a 225 tire, and 9.0 is already pushing it.

For a 9.5" wheel, you want at least a 235 (which is again pushing it) but ideally you want something more like a 255 or 265.

Topic has been smashed to bits.. over and over..

OP, go over to stancenation.com or run a damn 255/265. A 255 will fit just fine on the setup you're talking about, a 265 with a slight roll up front and the fender screw removed, and a slight pull in the rear. 2-3mm max.

I've posted this about 20 times... but I run 265/35/18's wrapping 18x9.5 ET38's.. I rub never.. not on the inside, or the fender, at any speed or situation.

The stancers on the stance forum can help you figure out the widest most unsafe tire to run and at what camber.

Easy: remove the spacers and see if the vibration stops.

I suspect the spacers are there to push the wheels out and off the suspension, or calipers. At that offset and width, he's about 1mm onto the upper strut cast.. possibly even the caliper depending on how the wheels are shaped.

OP - are you using hub centric adapters? Or are the wheels a 57.1 CB?

With a 2mm spacer on top of an 8mm theres not even going to be a hub for the wheel to grab to at all. So he needs to remove one of the spacers and throw a hubcentric ring on there, and everything will be all fine and dandy. Or buy a 10mm spacer that has an extended hub on it.

I had the same issue on my setup.

    You did indeed.

Don't worry my setup was just lacking hubcentrics, not the sketch spacer haha
