    Anybody Running EBC Rotors?

    Folks,

I've been reading a lot on the rotor topic with the BBK and all the mods we have for our cars including the Adams Rotors. I dont fancy much these options (I have my reasons) but I did see alot of comments on the EBC pads.

I'm thinking of setting up the USR Slotted/Red Stuff (Yellow I feel will be to agressive fro street application) setup on all 4 and although I might do one HPDE event this year I will probably not track the beast.

In respect to the forum members that actually sell many differnet options I've elected not to post either pics or a web link.

All I'm after are neutral opinions if anyone are running this setup or close to and alternatives for a great street (very occasional track event) that would not be in the BBK world.

    So discuss?

Definitely advised, I only went front because it was free (dealer of my used s4 replacing the ones that were sold to me worn out haha) I will do the backs when the pads are dead in the spring.

I got my car back with the brakes yesterday afternoon. Took the car and bedded the brakes at a nearby parking lot 10 stops moderate force from 35 to 5 and then 3 stops 45 to 5 full pedal. This morning I took the car out and found the braking to be excellent. I have a lot more pedal travel than before, but as far as I'm concerned that is a good thing. I hated how my old brakes were super jumpy - although they were basically worn out in the rotor since I bought the car 2 months ago.

I will post pictures as soon as the weather isn't complete shit...

    Eager to see the pics.

Odd that you'd have a longer travel. I have SS lines and no room for a long travel and its very sensitive which in my case I love oddly enough but I wonder why travel for EOM rotor replacements would change. That's something to ponder on but other than that looking forward to a description after a few weeks/months use if you dont mind.

EBC USR series not to confuse with ECS which I humbly did on another post. I will probably post a small review by the end of the weekend once I've bedded the pads properly.

If you look at the slotting I sont think they'll stay black very long unfortunately. The down side is they are slightly heavy which plays against take off but they have a lot of meat so they should descipate heat more effeciently so its a tradeoff but I'll see. I was going to do the job today but things got delayed to Monday...

Completed the job today. They actually are lighter (they seemed as I did not have a scale) than the EOM even worn out. The black is just protective coating and stopping power is really nice and smooth. Even the airflow design seems improved from EOM. Bedded them in and it has a lot of grip but not to the point where barely touching the brake pedal will make you kiss the steering kind of jerk.

Nice improvement and upgrade from EOM. Red stuff works well and is quiet up to now with low dust as promoted.

I like em a lot just for 20Km around town for now.

Old dead post, but OP do you still like these? or can anyone else comment on them? I've found them for a great price and like the red stuff pads, but haven't found much on the rotors.

Hey man, I used the EBC GD series with red stuff pads. I like them, def a better feel than stock. The pads are a tad dusty but not horrible.

The only I screwed up was not not bedding them properly and my rotors warped. I did the bedding process and it helps but they aren’t smooth. Was totally my fault, just don’t make the same mistake. I actually have a whole new set of pads and rotors ready to go on the front.

Same diameter rotors are not going to to dissipate a significant amount more heat than the stock rotors.
