ok, got the supercharger belt off and partially removed the main belt. but the main belt doesn't look like it can be removed without removing the supercharger belt idler pulley. is that true?

Yes, you do have to loosen (but not remove) the T50 torx bolt of the main ribbed belt idler pulley to get the old belt off.

The highlighted tensionor pulley needs to be pushed back with an allen head socket on a breaker bar. This will remove tension on the belt. The supercharger belt is fairly easy to route the main belt is a bitch without the front taken apart.

    it's not a T50 ~! it's a 9mm triple square.. nearly stripped it due to this post.

guys, to loosen the redbox on the left do you turn counter clock or clockwise?

    TIA

the service manual does not indicate that the threads are left hand for the supercharger idler roller (red box on left) so it should be standard.

The nut shouldnt loosen, its a tension pulley. you swing it up to remove tension.

I wish, the one on the left is not a tension pulley, it's fixed , the tension pulley is further left.
