    When do most of you switch to winter tires

    I just got a dedicated set of snows for my b8 S4. Although there is no immediate snow in the forecast, when does everyone in the NE area swap over to their winter tires? I may just wait until the 1st real snow is foretasted as a way to try and prolong my snow tires life.

    I have already swapped over. (usually swap middle of November) Unless your running all seasons a summer tire does not like temps under ~43 degrees.

    When I swapped over I would do it around 2nd week of Dec or if snow was forecast. Now I just run Conti Extreme Contact DWS with no issues all year
    Now: 2007 B7 A4 3.2L Auto. It's stock and staying that way. Then: Sold to another enthusiast: 2005 Dolphin B6 TQ 6 speed. GTRS Eliminator, Bosch 550 injectors, REVO SW, FMIC, APR TIP, High Flow Cat, Milltek Cat Back, Custom Interior Mods, Short Shift Kit, Suspension Goodies, S4 Recaro Seats

    I just swapped over last week. You should swap over when temps fall below 45degrees.

    Swapped last week, like others have said summer performance tires do not like cold. This is my first year putting snows on R8 and what a huge difference they have made

    Did the switch-over on this past Friday. Put Blizzaks LM60's on the 19 inch peelers, which will become my winter wheels from here on out. Also raised the car 1 inch so that I'm not plowing the roads for the state of MA.

    I switch mine normally when temps are consistently low 40's or colder. For me it was last weekend.

    Swapped when my summers finally went REALLY bald (bout a month ago). Was too soon in my opinion but didn't think it was worth getting new summers for a few weeks before the winters would have to go on anyway.

    Usually, opening day at ski mountains is my cue to switch over. Early November to thanksgiving.

    Nov 28th. Got a killer deal on a set of 18's with Dunlop Wintersport 3d's off craigslist from guy who sold his S4. I thought it was too early until it started to snow the same day I put them on.

    Two weeks ago right before I went away for work, don't get home until tomorrow. Also got a great deal ($850) on 18's with almost brand new Dunlop winter sport 3ds from an Audizine member in masswho sold his S4. Can't wait for the first snow storm!

    Just switched over to Blizzak WS70 on 18" rims. Wow my car feels squooshy compared to my 255/35's. The ride is much much quieter now and bumbs in the road are much easier to handle though. Need some snow now.

    Cant wait for the spring so I can start having fun again on the highway exit ramps.
