Can you fit 4 tires with back seats folded down and in trunk?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I am going to pick up 4 new tires and may not be able to use our jeep. If that the case, can I fit 4 255/35/19 tires with the rear seats folded down and into the trunk? Wondering if anyone has done this. Im hoping to not rub against the doors or seats too much but i'll bring extra towels/clothes to protect everything just in case.

    Thanks

I do it 2x a year when I swap my tires. I lay the seats down and slide them all the way up and they fit. Its tight but it works and I dont have to worry about them messing up my seats

get some tire totes. they have handles to lift and will save your interior. four wheels/tires will lay flat if you position them correctly.

I bought 4 tires and tire totes from tire rack and going to pick it all up as the facility is not too far from me and I'm headed up that way for work.

Will put all the tires in the totes as they will be stores for winter anyways. Worked out well to save shipping.

They should all fit if they're 18" in a B7. I've done it and only had to move the front passenger seat up a bit to situate them similar to the picture above. I'm hoping to be able to do the same with the B8 when it's time for new tires and it seems that it's possible. It is bigger too... but so are the tires. lol

^^^^ This is exactly what I did when I swapped my Winters on - the tech who helped me loved the tire totes - very helpful in keeping the inside of the car clean. One other reccomendation I would make is to wash the wheels that are coming off the car soon before they are to be removed...

Speaking of totes. Where and what brand did you guys pick up? Did you just get the Tire Rack ones? I think I'm going to do this for the next time I need to buy tires... not that new tires are dirty or have caused any issues for me in the past, but it makes it easier to just throw them in and not have to worry about anything.

I have the Tire Rack ones and they work fine. Its worth for me just to have the handles to carry the tires with

Yes indeed.I did when bringing to the installer 4 brand new 19" Michelin pilot S.S with the seat down and tetrisizing carefully the 4 large tires as to not rub on the back of front seats or side panels.I used a big blanket as a buffer pad too..

Kurgo is the OEM manufacturer of tire totes for brands such as Audi, Michelin, Tirerack, among others.

I prefer the Audi ones compared to the Michelins because they have a clear pocket window for a card insert to write down the tire info (such as position).

I slip a sheet of bubble wrap to protect the face of the wheels instead of purchasing the optional tire felts. With 4 set of wheels in the garage, the handles on the totes are indispensable for hauling them around.

You sure can, I commonly load up 4 18x9.5 wheels with 275/30/18 tires mounted to the wheels, and it fits fine in the back of the car with the seats down. I can even fit a jack and everything else needed for a track day event! Like everyone else stated, just wrap the tires in some sort of protective cover.

Picked up the tires and put them in the tire rack totes. Everything fit, just had to move the front passenger seat up a bit.
