    Would you fit 275-40-17

Am i crazy? I bought wider fender flares for my car and i want wide tires. I could get my hands on a set of 275-40-17 that are off a corvette. Id mount them on my 17x9 et24 motegi touge. Crazy or doable?

Why would you go 17" if you have wide fender flares?

255/40 is about as wide as I would go.

I haven't made up my mind on how wide I'm going with my next tire setup. I'm torn between 255/40, 245/40, and 235/45.

I've seen 245/40 in person, but I didn't like the short sidewall.
235/45 is common and the cheapest.
Yet to see 255/40 in person.

to me, the 255/40 is perfect....I track the car, so the extra rubber is nice...kills fuel milage a bit for daily duties but I like the extra traction so its a fair trade....i had a 225.45 on it at the track before and these stick so much better.....if you're below 25 GTF you may have some rubbing at the fender.....but I dont know, I'm at (25"F) (25 1/4" R)..

cause usually, if you're running that wide of a tire, its for performance.,........a4/s4's dont need 18's for performance....the lighter, the better.

I like the bigger look of 18s, especially if I am going to have wider flares.

    Your preference though.

Yes to each his own! The car scene would be boring if we all had the same looking car hehe.

Little poll here, motegi touge 17x9 or corvette sawblades 17x9.5?
