????????? This car NEEDS a short shifter. During 1st to 2nd I have time enough to make a sandwich and the number of times I've nearly gone into 1st back to 2nd is instead of 3rd I don't even want to talk about. The stock selector is sloppy as f$%k.
Lol...enough time to make a sandwich.

But unfortunately that's not shifter related, it's the transmission gearing, it takes forever to go from 1-2 smoothly because the rpms need to drop sufficiently and the gear ratio changes quite a bit. A short shifter won't fix that.

Here's a DIY for replacing the inner CV joint, which involved taking the axle out: http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ot-Replacement

I went with a Cardone remanufacture axle bought on Amazon. They had 'em for $100-$200, depending on the seller.

I so totally agree with this. Going into third is awful in these cars. The short shift sounds like it's going to make my life better, plus I am into short shifters. ;)

Go to Sears and buy the longest T30 screwdriver you can find. Mine has a black and red handle and has like an inch to spare. I bought it for the exact purpose you mentioned.

Thought this was a good place to ask. What does a set of titanium package 18" wheels go for? I have a set. Two with minor bend and all four have minor curb damage.

Does changing the Atmospheric pressure in Torque Pro app. change anything to the displayed value? It doesn't change a thing on mine.

Other question : How can I correct the projector light level with the levelling screw when it looks like right now I am stuck to the max. Thick, thick thick sound when turning. Look like the screw is disengaged.

Depends on how bad they really are. Considering all four would require repair (at least for me since curbage drives me nuts), I would say around $500-$600. What do you guys think? I mean, its a desirable wheel. Find the right guy that wants that exact wheel and you could get more.

I see guys trying to sell 17" stockers for $1k on CL all the time, but considering a nice, brand new set of aftermarket wheels can be had for $750-$1000 nowadays, not realistic imo.

    2. Where are the horns? The stock horns are a little quiet for urban combat and so I feel the need, the need for Fiamm Air-Horns.
You know, the sort of horn that when blown scares the dozy bugger that just slipped into my lane 2 lanes back the other way, across the other street, and into a pole.

    1. Review the spark plug or air filter replacement DIYs. It shows where the attachment points are. It was a revelation to me -- so easy to pop off.

Nah, a lightweight flywheel helps a bit. Shaving grams from the pulley won't do much. Honestly I don't find the shifting to be an issue.

I mean this was professionally engineered, it's not an absurd amount of time to shift from 1-2, it's just not a transmission that is geared like an m3, the gears are wide spread for fuel economy and that means slow shifts from 1-2, but honestly drive an a4 for 30 minutes and you can find a way to shift fast enough to fel fine.

    My advice,
Accelerate hard in first gear to 4k, clutch in, gear 2 and as you pull the clutch out quickly but not sidestepping, you will already be in gear, very smooth.
