Someone should make a maestro guide to make your car run a little rich to pop a flame here and there.
A buddy has a mk6 with exhaust cutout and backfires / pops flames like its his job lol.

Mine doesn't have the dimmer option just a power and ground wire .

Right so if you wire the power into the wire that is oem and dims the cluster you could get similar dimming.

Depends in the year as the packages changed year to year. However both our 2006 and 2008 had auto dimming mirrors

I wired my boost gauge into said wire, so I can dim the gauge when the cluster dims.. I'll take a look and tell you what colour it is

Blue white i believe is the one you are looking for whoever posted the question. Theres also a way to install an inline resistor so that the gauges are not brighter then the cluster gauges. I cannot remeber but its a small resistor. Hope thats what you were looking for

Here is what it looks like with a 2.2K resistor. It looks a little dimmer in the pic than it actually appears. I wanted it toned way down to not compete with the speedo but still bright enough to read. If you want it brighter just get a lower rated resistor.

    Hi Gang,
I have 2 very dumb questions that I'd like to ask.

    1. How does the plastic engine cover come off? Do I just give it a good pull, or are there some clips or screws somewhere?
    2. Where are the horns? The stock horns are a little quiet for urban combat and so I feel the need, the need for Fiamm Air-Horns.
You know, the sort of horn that when blown scares the dozy bugger that just slipped into my lane 2 lanes back the other way, across the other street, and into a pole.

    Cheers
    Noel

PS I hope this post isn't too X-rated with my use of words like; pull, screws, horn, blown, bugger & pole.
    Cheers

The stock horns are attached to the back of crash bar, behind the bumper skin. One on each side.

No, I missed it. I used to go to plenty of car shows and club events,
but now I'm married, with a 4yo kid and so that avenue of pleasure has been cut off......

To be honest, I'm lucky I got budget approval for a B7 and not stuck with some dreary Japanesse or Korean shoebox.....

I got a set of tires with an alignment today and this is what I got.

What's up with the front camber? They mentioned it was not adjustable. Is this true? Or something I can fix? Or something I can replace to fix?

That is excessive camber. I'm lowered on stock arms and don't even have that camber number. You'll be able to notice 2.1 camber. Does it look slanted? Could the tech misplace the sensor?

So in reading (I can't find the factory specs for a b6 with sport suspension to save my life) the front camber is not adjustable. How did they get so uneven? How can I do something about this without dropping $$$ on adjustable arms?

Front camber is adjustable only by shifting the subframe side to side, which adjusts both inverse to each other.

You might want to check the upper control arms. Might be bent or something, bit that is definitely off

How do I check oil pressure? I have integrated engineering Pcv block off plate with three holes. One to intake manifold and two to catch can. Do I just use one of the ports on the plate that routes to catch can and hook my gauge to that? It's one of those autozone gauges just to check pressure.

I'd love to know this as well.. mine's peeling in two places, I'm wondering if plastidip on a q-tip or precision brush would work?

I know it wouldn't be perfect, maybe someone else can chime in.

Similar note, the only switch in mine delaminating was the start/stop button, a PITA and common problem, rather than spending $150 for a new one that would just delaminates again, I found perfect circular stickers, vinyl letters and used the letter S, and a clear domed button sticker thereby making a new button cover that feels nicer than stock and I can change colors whenever I'm feeling bored.

Awesome Stuart little. Yeah, I was thinking plasti dip, but the switch is back lit, so you would loose the lighting if painted solid. I can mask the little circular marker but not the symbol. I may just bite the bullet and buy one. Or, maybe paint it silver or something for the hell of it. Its really not black, but that dark charcoal color, so plasti dip may look off anyway.

FWIW, black plastidip matches the rubberized coating pretty well. I plastidipped my Podi gauge pod out of curiosity and you can't really tell the difference in color.

Well now let's think about that.
If you hook up to a generic part of the engine that makes contact with oil, you will also get tons of air, so it won't be an accurate measure of oil pressure but rather crankcase pressure, two different things.
Oil pressure is the pressyre in the oil galleries, so you need to hook up to a port where there is oil flow. either the filter housing or jusing a banjo port on the turbo feed line to the turbo.

????????? This car NEEDS a short shifter. During 1st to 2nd I have time enough to make a sandwich and the number of times I've nearly gone into 1st back to 2nd is instead of 3rd I don't even want to talk about. The stock selector is sloppy as f$%k.

Is a there a way to let fresh air flow through/in to the cabin like any other regular car without having to turn on the climate system?

Ok makes sense. I guess I was mixing it with boost pressure. I've searched but can't come up with a procedure to doing this. What banjo port did you use? Or if you did it from oil filter housing. I don't know where or how to start. Being a real noob on this.

I use it all the time as a visor for when the sun gets between the mirror and the roof line. But I drive during dawn/dusk hours quite a bit, and I've found it to be a handy little gizmo. I wish it was about 1/2" taller.

P.S. Being 6'2", I've never seen the red lights reflect in the mirror either.

edit: And thanks to all you who posted about working both side temp controls! Bonus!

If you only have an autozone one then you need an adapter but I'm not sure which one...

So go to the oil filter bracket, on the backside there is a sensor, you have to remove this sensor to test oil pressure and you use that port to insert the tool, but I'm thinking you will need a n adapter...maybe take the tool and go to a hardware store, then pull the sensor and take it inside ad find an npt adapter that goes from the autozone gauge size to whatever the sensor size is
