Alrite since i have a nice reliable piece of transportation might as well do a nice gt 2870 swap in the winter since everyone else is doin them... so ye i plan on piecing the kit together, i grabbed a rebuilt gt 2870 internal wastegate, 64 trim turbo for $200 bucks from a buddy of mine, next i need to know what type of injectors and so forth would work well and NOT push a stock interal 5v over the limit...

I have read k04 tunes with 440cc injectors and such works just great. But ye can ya guys give a nice insight! time to get the build started!

you want to run a 2871 on a k04 tune? Don't do it.

I would get a proper tune. At the very least, an off the shelf tune for a gt28 series turbo. I'd try to find a used one I guess. I wouldn't run a k04 tune at all. It would work, but only for so long and it wouldn't be nearly as good as a proper tune

it really depends on the tune. Some tunes are made for a wider variety of turbos. If its a k04 specific tune then I probably wouldn't bother. I run a united motorsports tune which is advertised for a k04-gt28 series turbo with my 2871 and although conservative for my setup its real smooth and I like it so far.

The UM tune is great, for sure. But it also uses large (630cc) injectors and a 3" MAF housing, so it can take anything a GT28 can throw at it.
Most K04 tunes use small-ish injectors (like TT 386cc, or even stock injectors with 5bar FPR), and a stock MAF housing, therefore they are completely unsuited to running a BT.

Alright thanks for that insight, its almost like a 2 map program on one ecu huh? And for the best power out of a k04 what cc of injectors should i run ive heard of people running 316, 386 an 440 and so forth i already have a nice fmic, free flow exhaust intake dv, bkr7es in coils upgrade all that good stuff. What am i going to have to do to get the best results out of a k04?

Have a test pipe yet? Easy 15+ WHP especially with a k04 and exhaust. I have almost the same setup.

I' de look into a high quality tip, like Apr or forge. Stock tip collapses at high rpm so ive been told. It's next on my list.

Big turbo most likely will come over the summer but if aint broke don't fuck with it! for the mean time, last pic for the season!

So ye the black beauty has been doing awesome i did kinda of disappear on the shit Ive done for the 1.8t like small nit picky stuff but more pics to come later, i did however end up trading the integra i bought for winter and trading it for a 98 Casablanca 2.8 manual drove it home 120 miles with a wheel bearing that literally was not even their, made it home... almost till the rear brake pads fell off and piston shot out making me lose break fluid and could barely stop lmao but did a bunch more stuff to this car within the last few months that i barely even kept up on but ye here are some pics enjoy!

First bath, body is pretty decent minus the fender and both bumpers had to be replaced!

Next was motor mounts, cause the ones on the car were no longer holding the engine down lol...

    Some suspension refresh, much needed.

    Quattro in the snow!

    Some low low!

Dont mind the bum, but he fabricated the entire exhaust system from the front back, because i got the car with open headers lol.

    The black a4, sittin purdy...

    And the white a4 lowered!

So ye that pretty much sums up what ive been doing latly for you guys that were actually following and subbed to the thread lol, and anyone ever see a lowered dodge shadow before??? if not heres my buddy Cheezit53's lol

So after 3 years now i finally decided to upgrade the wheels on the brilliant black b5, and use the 16s with great tread and not bent rims on the casa!
Summers here and the 1.8t, KNOCK ON WOOD... has been running flawless only real update is have been doing alot of wire tuck/ evap deletes and so forth. so far passenger side is good now its time do the the drive side intake plenum paint and what not. But ill get there!

Now for the casa beater... got the whole maintenance game on point, got a nice casa rear bumper finally, still looking for a front bumper. Didn't know casa parts were this hard to find its ridiculous but ye shes coming along nice as well!

Other then that im just taking it easily till i go franken turbo and finally enjoy this summer for once! but ill keep ya guys and this thread updated!

Good news and finally another update lol, Got rid of the E46 about a month ago now traded for my new daily, 01.5 Light Metallic Silver 1.8t Quattro!

And then the usual maintenance crazy fun started! In a rush to get it all done before it starts to snow so i can put the good ol summer car away!

And finally start to fix the body blemishes, luckily dent free but bottom of doors were rusty and the stance life got to the fenders still trying to find clean ones as well!

Other then all that its got 196k miles on her looks way to clean had the whole entire suspension redone by the PO, so ye now its in its winter height thanks to the adjustable St's!
P.S. Thats my old Casa b5 on the right, my buddy plastidipped it for winter lol!

Other then that the race 5 is put away for the winter, and will be finally going through a t3 to4e swap, decision is made and final this time lol!

    Update!

Well since summer ended finally, me and the silver B5 got along pretty well minus a few ghost cel's which was solved with the infamous evap/ emission deletes, and trying to check the diff fluids with welded fill plugs not going so well, ohh and the whole keeping the daily b5 trusty and dailyable, ye that didnt go so well at all...

And this upcoming summer, its gonna be stance nation and chill for the brilliant black b5, with a nice set of staggered, stretched 35th anv. shooters! Pics down below! Stay tuned for more updates!

New garage setup, custom bench time to paint walls!

    Evap whats that?

    Tucked bay happy bay!

Frozen fill plug, no problem do axle seals and fill from the inners!

Work, shes dirty chilln with big bro...

    4.2 V8 Swap near future.

New setup with stretch and stance for winter lmao...

Almost finished tucked bay for my summer b5, just gotta polish the mani!

Refinished these for the summer b5!

I got them off of hottuningusa off ebay, then come to find out they shipped out of belgium, and i paid 315 after taxes for them. Turns out they are JOMs coilovers and or knock offs but they ride great a little bit of modifications were needed for the rears to seat the oem like bumpstop setups and such.

    Exclamation

Well, new setup ran great after ALOT of debugging was done to get her to start up and run right, in the mist of doing all the DEBUGGING i came across doing a compression test on this engine first time since i swapped it in, and lets just say the cause of blow by and hard start after the first handful of runs the blow by was a great hint. All 4 cyl were around 70 psi confirmed rings by wet test and that bumped it up to 130ish. So i have to do a clutch anyways and am going to pull the block and build it and hopefully be done before mid summer.

So my question is where can i go about finding drop in rods for an 058 AEB block to reuse with the stock pistons?

And what the wrist pin sizes and so on so forth?

Pre service position here we go again! Lmao...

And ive had this new daily before the build and such, stock e36, 2nd owner, 130k, rust free cleeeaaan. dropped it on coil overs, wheels and exhaust great daily!

If you want cheap China rods go CXRacing.com. If you want quality stuff, 034 Motorsport carries SCAT rods which alot of people have recommended. With the 058 motor you should have 20mm wrist pins. I think the AWM (06A) is when they switched to 19mm. So you should be looking at rods that are 144mm x 20mm.
