dang. My car is on stock ride height and Q5 18' takeoff rims. What would any of you have to say about a subtle drop and more aggressive stance, and where id be able to find the springs n' things to do it?

Our cars benefit well from a nice drop. You have some options...springs, coilovers, bags.
Eibach and H&R make good springs (Eibach not as aggressive a drop). For coilovers, ST, KW and H&R are the main companies.
Tire Rack has pretty much everything you could want except bags.

For coils st and kw v1 will be like stock ride just a bit stiffer and H&R will be more stiff. If your town has bad roads I would go with st.

I should figure out a proper rim setup soon. I'm running stock 18's and I'm having a dilemma on what to do.

It's condor grey metallic exterior, only a few hundred were ever made. The question is what would you guys suggest rim wise?

The color is strange, in some lights it's a silvery blue while it can shift to a seafoam silver green. What rims/color rims do you guys think could work?

Also, would painting my calipers along with polishing my rotors/rust be a bit much?

I understand this can come down to personal preference, but opinions are appreciated.IMG_20181022_154923.jpeg

If you're like me, you won't be happy with a bigger wheel/tire combo unless you lower it at least a little. As far as wheel choice, I tend to like the silver or dark gray OEM-style wheels (peelers, rotors, etc.) in 19-inch or 20-inch (if your roads are good).

I'm shooting for 19 Inch rims, just trying to figure out if black, silver, or white along with H&R springs

Just as a heads up, I installed 19 inch wheels (H&R springs) on my 09 only to end up with rubbing on the passenger rear tire when going over bumps/dips at speed. It only occurs on that wheel as the car somehow sits a tad lower on that side. Drives me nuts. That said, others are running the same setup with success.

I'll probably have to be careful. Where I live is super hilly with a ton of elevation changes, know of any subtle-r options? Probably wouldn't be able to get out of my neighborhood on H&R, I'll add a pic in a few minutes

What kind of clearance do you have front and back (Ex: going over speed dips and inclines)

No issue in the front but of course I canít go racing over neighborhood speed bumps (which my HOA installed on the very day that I lowered my car!)

They do look pretty damn good on the black A6(If I have to say so myself), even it it is a bit on the high side.

Meant to reply to this! I really like those, are they 19's?

The condor Gray metallic is a super hard color to work with, I'm thinking I might lower it on white 19s or 20s. 14X made in that color, so I haven't been able to find anyone else with one to get some advice from.
