So I am currently looking into avant garde m590 20x10 but need to know if the offset to clear brakes requires an offset of 25 or 35. 2010 a6 c6.5 3.0T. Stock height. (For now)

Both offsets will clear the brakes, but an offset of 25 is far too aggressive if you plan on lowering the car.

Exactly why I love this forum. Ordered the 20x10 with 35 offset but I also am planning on lowering the car once I see exactly what wheel gap I'm up against but may pull the trigger on e-level

Question, I'm looking for new wheels and I found a set that I like but I'm not sure it will fit since I'm lowered. The wheels I'm looking at are 19x9.5 et 45 while my current setup is OEM 18x8 et 48. Anyone have any experience or insight as if the extra 1.5 in will rub or clear? I have about 16mm of clearance to the outside so the ET shouldn't be an issue and I have about a finger width to the top of the fender so I don't know if it will push out past or not? Otherwise I'm looking at 19x8.5 et 38 which I'm pretty sure will be fine. Any advice??

19x9.5 et 45 Will work fine without rubbning.

I ran 20x10" et40 front and rear last year.

Thanks Malmstone for the input, unfortunately the car is dead and getting towed to the dealer so the new wheels might be totally off this year :-(

Just ordered H&r super street coilovers for my 2010 a6. Only difference is I am running a 20x10 avant garde wheel. Will post pics Thursday after install.

2009 A6 C6.5/4F-f, stock non-sport susp. (yeah, mile-high club I know - 20-30mm drop springs is next), 19x8.5 ET35 245/40/19.
RS6-2 / peeler reps.

Was afraid 8.5 ET35 would be too bold, I was praying they wouldn't poke out the well(strictly illegal here), and it fits with a bare, bare minimum of clearance. Googled my ass of to try and find out before ordering (the alternative was ET45, optimally I wanted ET40) if it would poke, but no luck. So googlers falling in here: 8,5" wide ET35 rims WILL fit barely without poking!





Oh BTW, rim-color is Gunmetal/"silver shadow"

Still need to measure the FTG but new wheels and tires are mounted (19in Advanti Drago & 255/35 Potenzas), alignment done as well. They stick out just a bit further than I would like as it rubs on some of the bigger dips so I might have to machine the hub down a couple mm in the future or raise the coils up just a tad more but I'm pretty happy with the way it looks.

It will fit. 255/35/20 will give you good sidewall. If you are lowered, you may experience minor rubbing in the rear if you are lowered. 245's will work as well but I would not do anything smaller.
