C7 S6/S7/RS7 1/4 Mile and 60-130 Thread

We went to Orlando Speed World last night and did pretty good. The conditions were not good but the car ran okay based on that. It was mid to upper 70's and the humidity was above 70% all evening. In fact it rained a couple of times during the night. Best pass was a 10.928 but it was consistent. Car is full weight with absolutely no mods besides the APR tune. They were out of race fuel so we only ran with 93 octane.

the times are accurate on the slips, the 121 pass i did in the car the owner asked me to do one hit and that is what i got. I am not going to lie i was very jealous of this revision, I had my s6 for a long time and never was my stage 1 that powerful. it was really amazing i think you guys are going to be very excited when it hits the market.

Your 60ft are freaking amazing! My best ever is a 1.703 when I did my 10.61... I wish I could run 1.63s... the car would be good for 10.4s!!!

When are they releasing their tune? Do you know? I would really love to see a dyno chart to see the torque curve!

Thanks, still stock tires and wheels, you would have to talk to John about release dates they don't tell me such info I assume we will dyno the car when we finalize tunes this is all in the testing phase.

I hit Great Lakes Dragaway in Union Grove WI today to get some baseline runs for my '13 S6. Best run below:



"Mash and go" launch technique - L/C caused too much wheelspin.

Car is bone stock, nothing removed for weight savings, and had 1/8 tank of 93 octane. Ran just about what I expected.

First time at the track and I managed a [email protected] with a 1.666 60ft. After that I had trouble hooking up but managed a [email protected]. Full weight, stock cats, 93 octane program.

I haven't gone through all the pages in this thread but could this be the 2nd fastest stage 1 time? I know there is a gentlemen from Quebec that posted a 11.4@120 stage 1 recently.

This was at Sacramento raceway btw.

What is considered stage 1, stage 2, stage 3.....? My car is totally stock except the APR tune. Stock 21" wheels and tires, no down pipes, full weight, etc.. Car went 10.92 as noted above with 93 octane pump fuel. I wanted some base line runs.

Depends what company you choose
Unitronic is
STAGE 1 = just tune 91 oct
STAGE 1+= Just tune 93 oct (i did 10.69@130 on 93 oct tune in a 2016 rs7)
Stage 2= Downpipes (software to turn off cel)
Stage 2+= Factory turbo upgrade (s6 with rs7 turbos)
Stage 3= aftermarket turbo

APR is
STAGE 1 91/93/100 oct tune (gas greatly affects your mph)
Stage 2 downpipe (cel turned off)
stage 3 larger than factory turbo

BTW i grew up in Oviedo, over in kingsbridge small world.

For those who think I'm selling the car because of issues she is very consistent , apr RS 7 turbos , 40F outside , normal tire pressure , 2 baby seats in the car , spare tire and winter rim was in the trunk , forgot about it lol
So because of the weather conditions no traction but the car is faster when going . I said I'll try it before winter wheels go on



402 = 1/4 mile
100-200= 62-124 mph
0-100= 0-62 mph

The initial [email protected] run I had switched from 91 to 93 program while queued to run, so my guess is it hadn't adapted yet so the launch control didn't overwhelm the tires and I got a good launch. The 120.9 was a more gentle launch but higher trap and I think the 93 octane program had fully adapted then. The 117.9 was probably my slowest trap, after the 120.9 it was 118-119.x and it was 45 degrees so it was hard to not spin on launch.

Your trap speed seems a little low. Were you in drive, sport or manual mode? Did you let the car shift for you or did you shift manually? If you have the APR TCU and keep it in drive or sport, it will shift much earlier than the stock TCU. I don't understand why APR has programmed it to do this as looking at the dyno sheets, you definitely want to shift every gear at or around 6500. With the APR TCU, it shifts some gears as low as 5375 RPMs! That's a huge difference and could really kill a 1/4 mile run... So I'm wondering if the APR TCU's overly conservative shift points hurt you on this run...

APR calculated the shift-points to max out wheel torque in the new gear with each shift. It should yield fastest acceleration unless there is an additional shift not needed during a 1/4mile run with the stock TCU program. Are there any other 1/4 mile slips with the APR TCU software out there?

. First run of the day it broke middle of the run. 0-60mph hit a 2.7s. Prop shaft broken due to missing bolts on my transmission mount.

no, r888's with brake and gas launch. When i had just tune on my rs7 it ran 3.0s 2.9s 0-60mph all day.

I did not even get a full run in, it broke on my first run. The time in my signature is one of my good ones, i have a 10.5 run as well but in really hot weather. I just picked up my rs7 a few months ago so i doubt it was me.

i think we are reaching a point where to try and launch a 4700lbs car to a 1.70sec or better 60ft becomes quite the strain on the transmission components... Maybe down to consistent 1.60s but anything better than that things are more prone to breaking...

What I am trying to figure out is if the tune+downpipes+exhaust cars have a consistent advantage in terms of power Vs. the tune only cars... So far I am not convinced that the exhaust cars have consistently higher traps than the tune only cars... Which makes me believe that a proper downpipes and exhaust tune is required to fully benefit from the better flowing exhaust system.

Any data that the RS7 crowd wants to share?

My car tune only on MS109 with weight 4690-4695lbs with driver runs an average of 104mph on the 1/8 and 130.5-131.5mph on the 1/4. In theory a car with catless downpipes and maybe exhaust if gets a claimed additional 40awhp on average should consistently trap higher. Maybe 2mph higher? I am not sure yet...

BTW I just realized that my last 18 runs are all in the 10s... Which simply sets the bar very high when I decide to change cars, simply because it will have to do better! LOL!!!

The old rule of thumb for 10 second cars was 1mph for every 10hp

I can't offer anything here. Since I have to make all my 1/4 mile runs at a track that sits at 6000' and routinely has 10-12,000' DA values I still haven't even been able to run in the 10's here. If I get to a sea level track next spring I will let you know.

That's pretty silly since it doesn't take weight into account. For example, 10 HP on a 10 second Civic weighing 2250 pounds will have twice the impact as adding that same 10 HP to a 4500lb RS7.

For a 3500 pound car such as a corvette

And silly is a 2015 RS7 with matrix headlights, specially sheparded through the production line for a guy with special connections inside the Audi production structure
