If your not concerned with keeping the warrantee on a transmision that is now over its rated capacity. I'm waiting to see how well the tuned jobs hold up in a year or two.

Has anybody checked the 0-60 times or only 1/4 mile times?

Can't really compare the two cars but let's know how fast the rs7 will be, looking forward to seeing what uni and giac can do with those tunes.

I would say not till we have viable turbo upgrades, it is like comparing a ko4 car to a k03 car apples to oranges. The rs6/7 and s8 have a huge power advantage due to the differences in motor and turbo and that doesn't even begin the differences in the transmission gearing offered by the 8 speed transmissions.

I agree. I think we should keep this to s6/s7 and there should be another for s8/RS7

It makes sense to keep it engine family related since there are so few people who a) own this car b) post on AZ & c) actually go to the track.

    Do you compare a a6 to a s4? Or a q5 to a s4?

I don't mind them making their own chart in this thread (on page 1) but on the same chart makes no sense l.

    You make a good point.
To go a step further, you don't compare Lambos to v10 r8s, Jettas to a4s to Golf Rs, etc. The best analogy is the k03 to k04. Completely different animal.
We have different compression, cams, and turbos than s8/rs7. I like having the spreadsheet for s6/s7 variations so I have something to strive for

Its not really a list if only a handful of people comprise it. So far its only 8 people, and its now been out for 2 years?

Its about growing a database of times, as its fun to compare an S8 time to an S6 time. Tuners will start offering RS7 turbo swaps, etc., so its not far fetched to keep in the engine family.

I honestly don't care what you guys do, its just silly to create this walled garden around the S6 when other cars share the same chassis and engine.

It's not really the same engine. The crank, pistons, cooling system, and cams are different as well as the turbos and then the transmission. I don't even think you have a horse in this race and yet the past few days you have been trying to shit in everyone's corn flakes in the c7 section? It's a thread on an internet forum and not that big of a deal but I would prefer to see a database of s6/s7 times as they share the same platform. I want it that way so the s6/s7 same platform guys (and girls - Tracee) can compete to stay on top. If there is a sub 11 second s8 with a flash that is a half a second faster off the bat, it's just not the same.

I thought the only differences between the C7 and D4 engines were the piston crowns and intake plumbing (power steering as well), based on the engine self study. Do you have another document that I can read about that shows this?

And yes, I don't have a horse in this race. Not yet at least (11/04). I'll be throwing my GIAC time up there in a bit. :-)

Not sure how I am shitting in your and anybody else's cornflakes. So far, I have only been critical of vendors with marginal products with no proof of acceleration benefits. Selling or even buying an intake without a dyno graph, pbox, or flow data is another chapter in the vendorzine files.

Its about making the platform better/faster, not making friends with tuners who take advantage or rip us off.

I am all for a dedicated S6 list, I just believe its gonna be a short one at that.

"Different piston crown" is an engineer's way of saying different piston i.e. different compression ratio (obviously different pistons). I read the study yesterday word for word 3 times because I plan on taking my car to the next level in the immediate future. Reread it and you will see each difference as I listed a couple posts ago. The cranks are made of different materials, the cam lift is different (no way to do that without different cams), etc.
I am for making the platform better which is why I would just rather keep tabs on the 4.0tt in the s6/s7. I don't care if there are only 3 people on the list as long as they are all trying to go faster than me. I do understand what you mean about the vendors though, that type of thinking caused me to open up my own performance watercraft business and become the fastest in my platform. I am using the same train of thought to develop parts for the s6 in due time. I'm already currently running my own intake and have something else being prototyped at the moment that should yield noticeable results. Wait, what were we talking about again?

Your not growing a database when only one tuner supports the car, and no enthusiasts own the car that actually track it. When the rs7 comes out do you think those guys are going to be happy about beating a s6 time that didn't have a chance to start with? Or do you think the rs7 guy wants to beat the other rs7.

It the same thing when I'm at the track do you think in impressed with my car when it beats a s4? No I expect it but when I get a time that I know is better then some one with the same car (chris) I cheer to my self in my car, the last times I put down I was literally jumping up and down.

The s8 driver doesn't want to see his time next to mine or a rs7 he wants to see his time next to another s8 because that is a real comparison

All I would be interested in is seeing all the data in one place.

If that means having lists seperated, that's fine be me.

    Separate the lists like this:

Who cares? It's about how fast can your car go. If you are a well tuned S7 and you are running as fast as an rs7 stock, that's pretty cool.

Here you go. My two runs.....sorry they are sideways. What would a good 60' time be? Not sure how I would improve on this with a stock car using launch control.

ecpChris - you just cost me $1.99 to buy that app! Haha, love having it. The DA was -684 They say the corrected time considering the DA for a turbocharged engine is 12.008 at 115.007mph.

    Thoughts??
    Thanks,

Thoughts - congrats! That's a great time and trap for only having the exhaust. I'm pretty sure you may be the first stock tune to break into the 11s. Def get a tune in that bad boy and get to work

Again, very nice times and traps. Those 60 fts are inline with what it should do stock. I would have to look but I think my best stock 60 ft was 1.70. Tuned is 1.63

I currently have the stage 1 software. I would like to run this stage 2. Also what brand is the cat delete? I would like that as well.
    Thanks!

    Amazing time Arin..

    What does Stage 2 entail?

Fuel pumps? Intake? Exhaust? High flow cats?

100 or 104 file? What type of fuel?

Just cat deletes or high flow cats. That's it. Everything else stock. Checking on the fuel now.
