Dechromed the wing mirrors. eBay Chinese specials. Not too bad. Had to cut a plastic tab off but overall pretty satisfied with the result. Just hate Audi chrome.

Yup it’s actually pretty easy to do but probably takes longer to do it this way than just taking bumper off however I know some people simply aren’t comfortable with that so I figured I’d give it a go and see how doable it actually was here’s the write up I used. It’s not the best but enough to get the jist of what to do - I may create a better one and post it in Audizine

Thanks Jordan she was prettier until a few days ago when some little #@£@ kicked her. Need that pulling out and some wheel scuffs sorting but otherwise she's a happy girl. Quite different to look at from when I first got her. I think the avants looks the nuts.

I had them wrapped. Little peeling here and there but it's been 2 years and I don't think you normally have any peeling happen. Just unlucky. Very cost effective though.

Cost to return ratio for US federalization/certification. They don't believe they'll sell enough for the return on investment. Not enough to make it worth their while anyway. AoA believes those who want utility in the US, wants SUVs over wagons. The sales figures tend to reflect that.

Me, personally, I would have bought the C7 in an Avant if it were an option but alas, it is not.

Agreed, granted I have one their SUV's, that wouldn't stop me getting a wagon and it hasn't. It is easy for Audi to say the sales figures reflect that when there is only one wagon, and it was pretty anemic until about a year ago. Granted it could still use some work, but it is way better. I know they had their Avants (USA) back in yesteryear, I still have one, but they were pretty anemic as well or even worse, costly and/or labor intensive. The 2.7T was a great engine but expensive, 3.0L was ok, 1.8T had great gas mileage but left you wanting, 2.0t was a dud, 4.0L was better but it was very costly, labor-intensive and came with gas mileage akin to an R8 V10+ with none of the fun. Another thing worth noting is a trailer hitch option on the US offered Wagons, I know there are roof rails, but not everyone wants to use them or they want to use them both. Maybe a roof box on top and a cargo carrier/bike rack in the back or in my case a tent on top and a bike rack in back. My decision to buy my Allroad almost went the way of getting another Volvo Wagon (V60 P*) or another SQ5 just because of more power and useable hitch. Audi markets their vehicles in terms of lifestyle. If they want their wagons to compete with SUVs, other than size, they need to be able to deliver the same lifestyle with no compromises. I would love it if I could have got an S6 Avant or RS6 Avant instead of my S6. Would have done so in a heartbeat.

So with that said.....why are other manufacturers like Volvo and even Mercedes still have there wagons on the market. I'm guess they still have a good clientele. Just for argument sake ...........lets say about 200 people go to AoA and put down down payment on the C8 Avant, wouldn't that be enough for them to reconsider bringing it back to US?

Don't forget BMW and Jaguar, they have wagons as well. I was having this conversation a while back with my local dealer's Audi Sport Ambassador, granted it is recently out of production now, but if Ferrari can find a market in the US for a $300K+ wagon what is Audi's excuse? As for reconsideration, I think an FB campaign like the one in 2011-12 for the last TTRS is needed for Avants.

Went straight to APR Stage 2. First impression: with moderately-aggressive highway driving, there is some torquey low-end power gain. It jumps up to 80 much more quickly. The latter is much more noticeable than the former.

Very slightly disappointed - but still much more driving to do!

Changed out my footwell led's to the deautokey led's and also did the universal led trunk strip and wow....what a difference. Sorry I forgot to take pics but I will say, if you don't have led's already or have stock led's I highly recommend the upgrade. Night and day difference and super easy install.

Finally de badged the entire back and painted the Audi rings matte grey. Didn’t turn out as elk as front bc I painted them on the car. I might have to suck it up as remove them and re paint them off the car.

Next up.... calipers???? Paint them yellow??? Thoughts.

Got inspected! Now time for APR DPs, Milltek resonated valcesonic with black tips, and CETE valve controller next week. Need to put in the CETE valve and suspension controllers this weekend (and reverse the vagcom drop)

    Oh, summers hopefully on too!
