Today- I had an early 5k service done on my S7. Took care of transmission and power steering TSBs, replaced the thermostat, a few other recalled hose clips etc...everything is great though. No immediate difference felt in steering and I have yet worked on the car in S mode to check 2 -> 1 downshifts.

I just got my car wrapped with clear bra on the hood, front bumper, and fender. The guy did a really great job and it looks amazing like there is nothing on it at all.

Now I have to decide whether to put the V8T badges back on. I like the clean look without them but it's also nice to brag about what is under the hood too.

By the way, have you thought about wrapping your filler plate with either matte black vinyl or grey matte to match your car? I think it would look much sharper.

Nope it color matches the rear defuser so that is why I kept it that way.

My best 60 foots were on 255/35/20's factory pzeros, have a few down pretty low as you saw in my old beta videos, my best six foot was a 1.52

Good luck this week at the track going to throw some 100 Oct in mine and see how I do

Took the S7 for its first service today,

1) squeeky brakes on reverse
2) jerky downshifts
3) on highway partial throttle, vehicle feels like its cutting. ( for you to understand this feeling, swith ur gear to manual and on a steady accelerator just upshift and downshift quick avd you'll feel same thing.


Two recalls,

1) thermostate
2) powersteering.


Might get the car tomorrow I just hope i dont have that fuel line problem on.

The stock HRE vintage caps are plastic bases, with an aluminum logo, sorta like a Ferrari center cap...however, they are about to release an all forged version...in particular I like how the areas that are chrome on the traditional cap are now brushed on this new cap. Its the small details.

Finally got around to plastidipping my front plate filler panel. Easy job, just tape off and spray. I think it looks much cleaner than the gray.

How much dust is acceptable under the 3M protection? I realize it won't look like factory, but thinking I need to review with the shop.
Saw about 15 spots on the hood, and will need to check out in the daylight Sat.

I think any dust would be unacceptable. The job my shop did looks perfect.

You don't have to use a sponge and you don't touch your paint when you dry either? What about the v7? Sorry but I am not familiar with your methods and am truly interested in a way to wash that minimizes scratching the paint.

Sorry I wasn't clear. I do use a sponge. I don't touch the paint when I dry, I just use a blower.

Yes sir. I foam the shit out of the car as well before using a lambs wool wash mitt and 2 bucket method. I do everything I can to minimize touching the car. Blower does a great job since most of the micro marring happens when drying instead of washing

I may try that method tomorrow. I have seen a clear bra shop doing the same thing too.

P.S. I took S6 out for spin and had a serious blast! It's a 60 miles back road along the mountain where no cop is around and pretty much no other cars around either. I could take the corners all I want and the S6 could handle them very well except one curve that I went to fast and lost control a bit but nothing happened (phew...). I noticed that the stock P-Zero tires is quite squeezing and it might be another factor for why I lost the control too. May try again after swap the set to Michelin PSS.

This past weekend was the annual H20i event (2nd largest VW/Audi show in North America) in Ocean City, MD.

APR did not have the company owned S7, so they needed a tuned S6/S7 power plant to display with all the other APR owned cars. I was the perfect contingency plan since I am tuned, and drove my car. So on this perfect weather weekend, with thousands enthusiasts attending I had the best parking space.
