ROFL they are plasti dipped so even when i spray the ever agonizing front bake dust off they will still be the color anthracite. That made me laugh. Notice the grille and side mirrors are the same color.

For me: Got the call this morning from HRE that my wheels are complete and will ship out today. Should have them Monday. Will be the first of its kind on the S7 and frankly one of the first sets period! The best part, every single step of the wheel making process was documented and photographed by HRE, so it should make for a killer installment on the Project S7 series in a few weeks. In the mean time, later this week or early next, will be Part 1 of my series with HRE, a sit down Q&A with Patrick Moran, Creative Director of HRE wheels, where we discuss a lot about the new series P1, HRE as a business, specific Audi fitment questions and also future direction along with ordering process and specing the perfect wheels. Ill link it up when its done. Cant wait!

I'm sure I will love the drop - now I need to get some wider wheels...I'd probably go HRE myself (I get wood every time I see the brushed tinted finish), but to quote phillyfan1, "We are not all Project Super Car." lol so I am looking hard at the Volk G27, which are more like what I'm willing to spend. I'm still not sure if I will like the prism finish long term.

They definitely look sweet on that A7 and Volk/Rays wheels have always been about quality. I think my biggest question now is whether to go with the light or dark prism silver on my black S6. I've always had shiny silver aftermarket wheels, but I'd like to do something a little different on this car and the darker silver (as above) is really growing on me.

I like to ensure wheels compliment the car (of course) but still provide some contrast. (Example, I wouldn't go black on a black car) - on my orange S5, I went with a Satin titanium. Silver looked stock, black provided too much contrast (couldn't see design) and looked like rolling Halloween. With the Stain titanium, the grey worked perfectly with the "Platinum" S body work on the car like the grill and vailence and the polished rim guard pulled the mirrors, exhaust tips, rings and other bright work in also...while providing just enough contrast. I did something similar with the HRE's for the S7, on design, finish and contrast while adding subtle bits that pull in the rest of the car.

Volk will do custom colors on their wheels, as well. I had a set of CE28Ns on a previous car in their "Formula Silver" color which I thought was nice (darker than silver);

I'm going with Brushed Tinted Clear and I'm unsure on the offset yet. I told my shop what I'm looking for, and I'll let them work it out with HRE.

Solid choice on the finish. Same here. Doesn't get much better than that. Love how the brushed finish really makes the wheel present it self as cut from a forging (rough) and the tinted clear is nuts. I went with classic white caps and Gloss Red paint fill on the HRE logo. 21x9.5 also.

I've always really liked Rays' Formula Silver color. Prism Light Silver is fairly close, with a little more titanium-looking grey to it and the lightly opalescent sheen that gives it the rainbow effect, which to me looks a little more subtle than it does on the Prism Dark Silver on the A7 above.

...trust me - I had this talk with Patrick at HRE and trying to understand why the P1 series cost a good bit more than the P40SC series, and the same as the S1 series that the P1 designs are based on....especially when the S1 is a 3 piece wheel! In a nutshell the P1 Series takes nearly triple the machine time...that said, ill have some more specifics on it in my article in a few days.

Brought my S7 in for the 5K service 7am, To pick up 5pm.
They called at 3 saying that there was a recall on the thermostat, and would need it the weekend, and it would be available for pick-up 5 pm Mon.
Anyone else heard of this for 2013?

Why 22ple on the wheels? How is it helping with the brake dust? I have my wheels opticoated but haven't really noticed the wheels staying any cleaner. Maybe the dust comes off a little easier, maybe.

Welcome! The wheels make a huge difference. I like your tint too. I have heard a lot of good things about the Michelin PS 3's.

To me 22ple is a little glossier. The first two weeks after i put it on the wheels it definitely repelled brake dust. Now I feel it helps a little bit with repelling brake dust but really helps with ease of cleaning and gloss when clean.
For lighter color car paint, Opticoat is a superior product. In my opinion, 22ple gives more gloss on darker colors.

They are Hartmann HS5-209-GA:M replica wheels. Nice wheels just not Audi OEM, but I get complements everywhere I go. The Discount Tire guys were fighting over who was going to get to work on my car to mount the wheels. ;-)

I have a great relationship with the Discount Tire manager and he ordered them for me with the tires and I got a great deal, I paid $322 a wheel for the 20 inch wheels and on the web site they are $345 plus shipping. Also becasue I purchsed everything on Labor day weekend they had a sale and I woudl up getting another $350 in rebates on the wheels and tires. So for the 4 wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 255/35R20 tires I was in for about $2100.
