That looks superb. I’m trying to do some CF vinyl wrapping on the interior this week and this puts vinyl to shame. I’ll go feel bad now haha.

I hate myself for not getting black optics...

Anyone know if there is a place to buy those pieces so I can get rid of my vinyl? I know the install is bad but man do those look good.

It’s super super expensive. I kick myself as well for not getting it. I have a black optic grille on my A4 it cost me $800. Was quoted like 2k for the trim from Audi with out install. I never cared to look for my A6

I’ve been looking at BKS but the 19% tax and $247 shipping ruins it. I may try and source the parts from a salvage yard or have a standard set powder coated.

Yours looks great man, how was the install?

I personally love the little bits of chrome on my black car. Not too much just a little. Maybe a different grille tho

That's what I plan on going with. I was on the fence about the window trim when I thought I could cheaply and perfectly wrap it. Now thinking that's not possible, I'm swayed to keeping the window trim chrome. I like the tiny amount of door handle chrome. Need to remove trunk piece and change to RS6 honeycomb grille + new fog light vent covers.

Personally i went for wrapping as i did the avant roof bars aswell. Luckly i liked satin black more then gloss. Satin black looks perfect flat where as the gloss my wrapper had looked not super smooth (any vinyl isnt perfect smooth and a must if you go gloss). Personal taste offcourse :).

So the issue is wrinkles in the wrap job? I can see that for a DIY, but a professional wrapper has wrinkles?

If that was meant at me...not no wrinkles just the subtile surface structure (orange peel) looks of gloss vinyl killed it for me (but like said, luckly personally i liked satin much more on my car). With satin it is okey to have some form of surface structure imho. SO if you want to go gloss and are picky i can totally understand you do not want to go the vinyl route. Sadely i have been reading horror stories of corrotion on the chrome and gloss trimes (i guess mostely on all day outdoor cars)...anyway :)

You don't pay the EU VAT... the 250. for shipping was still less expensive than buying in NA. Good luck trying to find it from a recycler. The trim usually gets damaged when its removed. It's tough not to unless they are super careful. My body shop did the install, Around 400 - 500 labor IIRC.

Just part of the keep bussy and train myself some more...little test sample just to check what it would give (square diament pieces only replacing with alcantara rs pattern).
Offcourse the pattern would need to be computer stitched but maybe worth it and doing the essambling myself and i only have the front seats to do. Tempting

Installed new ceramic brake pads... Almost...

Well, friendly PSA... Don't trust Amazon to get the part # right when you plug in your vehicle data and buy brake pads from them. They f@#%*d me on both front and rear pads, both wrong.

Here's the front pads the sent me next to my stock pads for example...

So I went to rockauto.com, to make matters worse they list the wrong part # same as Amazon plus a second different #. So then I went to powerstop.com who makes these pads, they only show a single compatible part #, and it isn't 1781.

Sent a reply to your similar post on the 4.0TT Specific sub forum. I don't know if you can get ceramic rotors/brake system on an 18 S6, but that is what you ordered. If you look at Rockauto, for that part number its says for Ceramic brakes. The other part # states "exc ceramic brakes" That could the confusing factor. The pic you have here for the fronts are for Iron brakes just like mine. When I ordered my pads, I noticed that notation and wanted to make sure I ordered the right ones.

Well, I returned the F/R wrong pads to amazon. 1781/1785 are not correct part numbers. The correct part numbers are Front 1575 / Rear 1547 which I got from powerstop web site.

The pic you have here for the fronts are for Iron brakes just like mine. When I ordered my pads, I noticed that notation and wanted to make sure I ordered the right ones.
Yeah, one huge problem there. It wasn't even an option from Audi on 2018 S6 to have ceramic brake system. You can get them on RS6, R8... etc as an optional upgrade. I'm not confused about an OEM Audi ceramic braking system vs ceramic pads on a conventional iron braking system. The pads I want are indeed ceramic material, and can be used on iron rotors. The issue is Amazon only listed one part #1781 for a 2018 Audi S6, and it was wrong. Powerstop.com only lists one part # for a 2018 Audi S6, 1575.

Bought a VBOX Sport and finally can see what the car can do, unfortunately I have the winter tires on. Anxious to see if I can break 3 seconds with summer tires and a better road. IMG_0025.jpgIMG_0026.jpg

So awesome to read about nearly 2.X second 0-60 times and complaints of winter tires when talking about the same vehicle. Love the RS7!

Great addition. Really like what it does for the car.

Phone and links are wonky. Here’s the pic I tried to post on the next page:

I think it would look great with Nardo, I’m planning on eventually wrapping mine in that color. Here’s mine, and just put on these tips, last ones didn’t work out so these are epoxied. Should hold me over until I get the AWE exhaust (visually)...
