Well, I broke my passenger rear speaker cover . Part appears to only be $45 (B&O people seem to be $200+). Not sure if all I need is a trim removal tool and can just pop it off or if the entire door panel has to come off. Hoping for the formerIMG_20191221_123541.jpeg

Getting to the two screws behind the bar and undoing the bottom and side clips were the most difficult part of the process. For the screws, I used my small vice grips to hold the torx bit and took my time (this part took my about 30 minutes trying to figure out what do). For the clips, I wasn't pulling on the grill hard enough - I was worried about breaking the tabs. But once I started applying more pressure, they started popping off. I also set some rags on top of the belly pan in front of the radiator to catch any loose bits or screws (I dropped my torx bit once).

The new grill seems to have the same mounting points for tabs and screws as my OEM, so I don't think I'll need to modify it in any way.
Please post a link to that method without removing bumper. Also, where did you get your RS grill? This is on my wish list of mods.

Almost done. Did a test fit and of course touched the paint on the crash bar (I'll probably remove the grill and touch it up in the future). Everything looks good, but I removed it to cut the parking sensor clips off - since they don't have anywhere to attach to anymore and stood out to me. Putting everything back on now. I'll post the guides and any notes soon.

Yah, I didn't say it wasn't. Just pointing out that the same part for B&O was crazy more expensive. Bose was thankfully only $45

The B&O ones are full alu/metal with laser cut holes compaired to simple plastic infused grills....but offcourse i bet it comes with some 'be exclusive' pricetax ;).
Normally the grills indeed pop off with trimremover.

    Here's the guide I used:

    https://www.audiworld.com/forums/a6-...moval-2930629/

Pretty straight forward. There were a few variations in my car vs the OP's car - mainly in the number of screws used (I just figured Audi realized they could use less screws). Here's the quick and dirty rundown:

    - Unplug any sensors, wires, etc.
    - Remove the top row of screws
    - Remove the screw(s) behind the Audi emblem
    - Remove the bottom set of screws
    - Remove the screws behind/under the crash bar
    - Pry off all the tabs on the top, bottom, and sides (use a little more force than you think while prying the tabs)

And that's it. It should slide off. Remove any parking sensors from the old grill and just snap the new grill into place. Like I mentioned earlier, the grill was a perfect fit for my car, but maybe it's modeled after a 2018 (just a guess). Don't forget to paint the bar and you're good to go.

The most difficult part was removing the two screws under the crash bar, and prying off the side and bottom tabs. My advice is pull the grill forward near the screws to give you a little extra clearance as you remove them. There is foam near them which can easily be pushed aside. For the tabs on the sides near the top, there is a rubber cover piece that can be pulled to give you the room needed to reach the tabs.

Let me know if you guys need any clarification, but this was relatively easy - just time consuming. I've never removed the bumper, but I have to imagine this is much easier.

So what did you do with your parking sensors? I can't really tell from the picture where you put them on the new grill. Also, what about the front camera? Or does your vehicle not have that?

Sorry for all the questions... But I have a 2018 as well and I'm trying to figure out the details like front camera and parking sensors. I would love to put this grill on my car, it's such an improvement over the stock one.

Parking sensors were pretty straight forward. You just unclip the connectors to them and once the grille is off, use flat head screwdrivers to pry them out from the mounts they're in and have someone else just pull them out. Then you just pop them into the mounts in the new grill. Pretty easy. I don't have a camera, so I can't help you there.

Bummer forgot to take picture of finished center consule once it was fully wrapped and out the car.
Ohwell, already installed in the car and in the end not much visible but it is in the details :).
Not sure yet, but maybe i do the glovebox, cover under steeringwheel and the two pilars next to the mmi/airco...but ran out of fabric for that.
Done it myself again including sticking build, not bought

Well honestly since now the console and lid has alcantara mine no longer automaticly opens-closes since the fabric of the lid is sliding against the inner tunnel. Personally don't mind it at all...
But in your case, only way to find out if it is the mechanisme or something is between it etc is to completly remove the console as the cupholder needs to be unscrewed from underneat :s. Several gears and springs on the side to make it work properly, maybe a spring fell off?

New OBX catback went on today and I also wrapped the downpipes while I was in there to help with rasp as others have done. It’s actually a really nice deep sound since it has 3 resonators an xpipe and mufflers... I was pleasantly surprised. I’m loving it so far! So much better than the stock exhaust with just testpipes lol... nice deep tone while driving/full throttle and quiet when just cruising/idle.

    IMG_2790.jpg

The negatives? You’ll have to buy a few clamps because 2 are just too small for the tips, one other clamp in the passenger rear mid pipe isn’t cooperating so get 3, make sure 2 are the slim kind the kit comes with or the tips stick out too far. I’ll be back in there tomorrow to install more goodies and address these issues. Happy with it tho! I’ll let you know if it passes the wifey test :)

Bad news - those quad tip covers didn’t last. I’m going to get another set and use my own double sided tape. I really liked the look. Did a good job prepping and everything, just shitty adhesive from the factory (you get what you pay for). Anyone have a good line on them so I don’t have to wait a month for another set?

Just got my RS6 grill as well. Removed the RS6 badging, and want to epoxy on the Quattro lettering in the rear, doesn’t seem as robust as I would like.

Planning on wrapping the cross bar instead of painting unless anyone has any advice as to why that’s a bad idea...

Yeah, once you look at the way the grille is attached to the bumper, it seems like a no-brainer to do it this way. And just an FYI, I didn’t replace the screws under the cross bar. I felt like the grille was secure enough that it didn’t warrant going through the effort to put those two screws back on.

Tried this on 2016 S7. Totally couldn't get to the two side screws behind the front crash bar. Also, the foam piece goes all the way across, and nowhere to move it to.

Finished converting my rear seats to S7 buckets. I beleive this is the first A6/S6 to do this conversion. The integrated headrests take them to the next level IMHO over the S6 rear seats.

Also. My crash bar is wrapped, and it has been slightly over a year, no problems so far

These were the exhaust tip covers. Love the look.

I’m trying to get my dad and little brother to join me for the grill project tonight.

I’ll get one tomorrow. They’re a little small, tucked in, and the car is on stilts so I’m not happy yet haha.

Well hopefully you'll pick up those spacers you messaged member about. A drop and pop those wheels out a bit and it's going to look perfect !!!!

Just got my RS Grile installed. Old grille is a casualty and lost a wedge tool somewhere in the passenger side... when it slipped I smoked my knee hard into the stock grille and it’s done, after that I just yanked it off. Was on my last tab too.

The vinyl I got for the crash bar is pretty shitty so I’m going to replace that down the road, kept cracking. It’s actually several pieces and I had to patch it a little once the grill was on.

Just noticed the glint in the picture makes it look like silver is shining through from behind. It’s not.

Anyone have tips on how to decide what size spacers you want?

Made some changes to the dashboard wrap. Sadely the shop didn't do such a great job of the airbag part. They did seams but somehow they kinda fucked up the install and wasn't super flush. Decided to cut it out and glue in a nice shaped piece in it. Now nicely flush and the cut almost invisible, but needed in case of airbag deployment. Very happy i did it...
With the left overs i covered the little window pieces.
Since i like the alcantara upgrades so much, i'm more and more thinking of doing the gloovebox, cover under steering wheel and the two middle pieces with seams. Starting to get the hang of it and actually not that hard :).

First try on some vinyl. Got rid of the chrome trim towards the bottom of the trunk. I’ll eventually get rid of the piece, but I figured it was a good place to try wrapping for the first time. Overall decent, but I can do better. I’m probably going to redo it tomorrow.

Trying vinyl for the first time. The rear quarter windows are gonna be tough. Did the chrome trunk strip, two strips on the lower front bumper, and windows are in progress.

    One side

    Front done

    Untouched side

    Side done without rear quarter

    Rear

Not perfect, but for ~$30 of vinyl it will hold me for a while. Door handles are gonna be another story...

Standby for triple post... drivers side blackout done. The door handles are not sweet to do, but they came out okay.

I decided to just do it all myself... one more section and two door handles to go...
