Sam,
Try re-adjusting the bars ontop of the FMIC to reposition it. Agreed, it needs to be centered for that symmetry eye-catching feel.

For some reason I was able to keep it centered:

Really want to see that core on your car

so I hope you can make it work. There is a solution out there somewhere. Need to keep brainstorming.

I've also been thinking about wrapping the headliner and pillars in red suede. I may just wrap my stock gray parts and then if I hate it, just throw in the black S4 parts instead.

Looks like I'm going to need a new driveway. I've also come to the conclusion that the parts S4 Avant that I purchased was definitely a flood vehicle. I'm thinking that it was probably submerged from the doorblades down. The engine was removed and placed into another S4 and is running strong.

I only purchased that car for the rear bumper and seats. Everything else I'm pretty much selling. Now that the car is in the driveway the creative wheels are turning and got me thinking that I would love to completely gut this car and turn it into a track/auto-x only car.

I think that I'm also going to snag the the rear brakes because they are massive compared to the A4 along with the black headliner in such.

Looks like I'm going to need a bigger driveway.

Quick question:
since you are putting your engine together, do you think that one would be able to change out the oil pump and oil pick up without having to take off the TB if the engine is still in the car and assuming the oil pan is dropped

In theory, one would need to loosen the tensioner but I don't think you can access it unless you remove the front crank cover which also means removing the TB?

I see no where in the manual that it mentions removing the timing belt.

That's make sense to remove the sprocket.

Made some more progress on the engine today.

Then today I got bored so I began a B8 A4 to B6 A4 seat swap..... just to see if I could do it. Yes the frame rails are a direct bolt in. But the wire harness and plusg are not. There is a lot of trial and error. As of right now I got every function to work except for the lumbar support.

Today I received the final part needed to button up the bottom of the engine. Tomorrow I install the baffle and the oil pan.

Still doing a little bit of mock up here and there. I'm still waiting on my timing belt and roller to arrive to button up the engine. Tonight I mocked up the turbo and oil and coolant lines. I forgot how much of a pain in the ass it is to run the lines for the coolant with the SPA manifold. As is stands I'm debating on the following

- Purple powder coat the Valve Cover, Coolant tube and air tank
-------------------------------- or------------------------------------
- Copper powder coat the Valve Cover, Coolant tube and air tank

I have not done purple, UFfitz did on his additions to my old engine. I like it alot though. Just want to add a bit of color to the bar other than the typical red.

I also put in one of the B8 seats and was albe to get it all wired up. The motor in my driver's seat was toast so this was a great free replacement. I just need the power wiring harness from another power passenger seat to wire up the other seat.

Today I ran various errands and collected several parts to worl towards finishing the engine.

I collected the following parts today

I plummed the lines and the caps for the bottom of the intake manifold vaccum lines

The day prior I dropped off my A7 for service and they gave me an A6 as a loaner. It a very dull and dismal styling. I feel like a much older man driving it.

Yup sold the Avant. Got an offer I could not refuse. I sold it with the airbags and Boer hood...... otherwise it was completely stock.

I still have the heart of the beast in my garage waiting for a car that needs a heart transplant.

Yes I actually do.....they are not in the best of shape though. I had them sold too. Right as I was packaging them for sale the fabric on the headline began to seperate.
