Parts located. If anyone else encounters this issue the female seat side of the connection is PN 8J0972576 - $8.07 each from audiusaparts.com

Will depin B8.5 S4 connector on seat harness and repin this B8 connector saving the oem harness on my B8 sport seats. Thanks for the suggestion @a4centaur!

It should work. I would check the part numbers on the harnesses in case they match. If not, just follow every plug and check the wires on the connectors to make sure they match.

    I encountered a strange issue.

Passenger side S4 seat does not have the seat occupancy module.
Now, it's possible the salvage yard already pulled that for someone else, but I don't see any wires cut etc.
The original seat has that module.

I have also noticed that my car has a "Passenger air bag off" indicator right under the hazard flash button, but the S4 didn't. It has a full hazard flash button instead. Mine is a 2016 and the S4 is 2015.

Do I have to swap the full harness and occupancy module from my seat to the S4 seat? All else is identical it seems (motors, plugs etc.).

I'll post pics of it helps others.

    Edit:
The part number on the S4 seat is 8T0971366D and on the A4 it is 8T0971366BA.
I cannot find the BA version listed anywhere.

    Anyone with insight on this?

Can the seat occupancy module be removed/installed through that opening in the seat base or does it require a full seat bottom disassembly?

I suggest you get the Repair - Body Interior document from erwin.audiusa.com (along with all the other docs for your car since you're paying for a day) and review the multi-page section on the Front Passenger Seat Occupant Sensor G128 and the Passenger Occupant Detection System. I'm still curious how a 2015 S4 lacked this.

The repair set includes a cushion.

Yes, it's weird an S4 wouldn't have this. Plus there's no "Pass Air Bag Off" icon/button next to the hazard switch next to the display.

I’m curious to know, if my A4 has the seat memory/module. And say I bout the front; used S4 seats that didn’t come with it on the donor car.

Is it as simple as removing the existing module and incorporating it into the S4 seats?

There's different motors in the seats for memory capable. One example, the V245 driver seat height adjustment motor. 2-pin plug in a power seats without memory installation. 4-pin plug in a power seats with memory installation, with the two extra pins going to the integrated G231 Driver seat height adjustment sensor.

So, the S4 seat without seat memory capability installed in an A4 that had it. In short; it won’t work. Unless modifications are done?

Yeah, pin 4 and 5 are the power and ground to the seat adjustment system. In your memory equipped seat, that goes to the J136 seat memory control module, which the motors connect to. In the non-memory seat, that power goes directly to the switches to the motors.

Oddly, ETKA doesn't seem to show a different motor for memory and non-memory. Maybe they use the same and the sensor pins 3 and 4 are simply unconnected in a non-memory implementation.
    https://audi.7zap.com/en/rdw/audi+a4.../9/959-959020/
Notice three of the four motors, 2, 3, 4, there's just a left and right part. But for the switches, we see a difference in memory (3L4) vs no-memory (3L5)

So can it be made to happen, I suspect so. Can it be done by simply moving that module over, unlikely. At a minimum, you've got rewiring of the seat harness connections to do.

If you plug the no-memory seat into your memory coded vehicle, the seat power should be fine since it's just passive switches and simple 12v power, no logic or control. But you'll probably have a DTC for the J136 it expects to be there no longer being present on the CAN bus.

You're in Canada and seats are from a Canadian car? The B7 S4 Canadian seats didn't have the occupancy sensor like US. It was another type of resistance and was connected to the belt. My guess is the same thing occur with ths B8 S4 seats. USA seats triggered a light in the dash when no one was in the seat. Aside from this, did you have a problem with the airbag connector?

Yes, these are both Canadian seats.

I ended up swapping the entire occupancy sensor with its module, harness along with seat position sensor and seat belt buckle.
I haven't tried it yet, but it should all work since the car will not know anything was changed since the harness is the same etc.

If you are talking about my seats, the pictures show a seat occupancy module on the A4 seat, not a memory module.

I ended up swapping the entire occupancy sensor, module, buckle, seat position sensor and the harness to the S4 seat. It wasn't that bad.

It should also noted for those looking to swap S4 seats into an Avant/Allroad that while the rear seats do drop-in and install without problems, the rear backrests are different.
The rear sedan backrests do not have the brackets for the rear cargo cover and more importantly, because of that, they do not have the rear top child seat tethers.
Now, you can swap the S4 cushions and covers and keep the Avant rear seat frame with those brackets, but only if both cars have the rear load-through opening behind the rear armrest OR if both cars did not have them.
You cannot attach the S4 cover onto a seat frame without the load-through.

The problem is that, I believe all or most S4s in North America came equipped with the load-through option while Audi in their infinite wisdom decided that large hatch is enough and did not offer this option on B8 Avant/Allroad. My B6 Avant had it.

I found out this last point the hard way and now I will have to keep the 2/3 rear backrest portion with my original A4 cushion and cover until I can find a proper rear seat frame with the opening so that I can swap my S4 rear backrest cushion/cover. Since thise do not seem to exist in North America, it'll have to come from Europe and because it was a luxury option, likely only S4 Avants had it making it even harder to find.

If you don't have child seat or you don't care about the tethers, it's not an issue.

If you are looking for seats, here are the option codes to check on the donor car's sticker:
    *
    3X0 = Without load-through provision
    3X2 = Load-through provision
    3X4 = Load-through provision

    Hope this helps others.

Most of the rear seat back frame is different between the sedan and wagon. The lower attachment points for the cargo partition net (I wouldn't call it the cargo cover; that doesn't contact the rear seat backs), the child seat attachment hooks, and the key lock on the release latch would be the difference points. As well as the sedan seat back is only in black; the wagon seat back comes in the various interior carpet colors.

If you look at the 9th pic here (last one before the door panels):
    https://wolfautoparts.com/magma-red-...et-296204.html
you see the backside of a sedan fold down rear seats.

    Versus one from a wagon:
    https://wolfautoparts.com/sabre-blac...6g-292439.html

(ignore the part numbers, as the part numbers do not indicate the back rest frame, they are just for the cushion cover, though the item in the listing includes much more than just the cushion cover)

You can have 3X0/3X2/3X4 on both the sedan and wagon it would seem. I imagine the easiest check is does or does not it have the chrome hook at the top of the seat back. Only wagon ones will.

I wonder how much work it would be to transplant all the front contact surface components (covers, cushions) from an S4 sedan set to a A4 wagon back rest.

    Yep, that's what I mean.

The swap isn't that hard. The armrest trim is the hardest only because it's easy to break if you don't follow the manual procedure.

I wonder how much work it would be to transplant all the front contact surface components (covers, cushions) from an S4 sedan set to a A4 wagon back rest.

So I bought two front Sport seats from an a4 B8.5. 2013
    My car (a4 B8) already has memory/heat/power
My question is my car has lumbar only on the drivers side and not on the passengers side the new seats have lumbar on the passenger side as well. Will the passengers lumbar work now or not?
I checked the wires that are plugged on the floor and they are the same for both sides now.

It will just work. No modifications needed. As you've observed already, the plugs are the same and the lumbar switch/motor will get power from the harness.

So all i have to do is switch the memory module on the drivers seat (black box) and the seat recognition module on the passenger seat (grey plastic box) and that’s it right?
Thank you for your answer eljay.
Looking forward for this, the seats should be coming next week I’ll post before and after.

    Correct on the driver's side.
Do both passenger seats have the seat occupancy sensors? In that case, I believe only the module swap may work.
In my case, my donor seat did not have it, so I had to swap over everything to do with the seat occupancy.
I'm not sure that you can swap just the module as the manual explicitly says to no disconnect anything from it when replacing it.

I assume that the donor seat has the seat occupancy sensor.i would think its a standard thing.

Ok so I swapped the seats everything is working even the passengers lumbar work now except something odd happened the memory seat on the drivers side now instead of controlling the seat it controls the mirror🧐any idea anyone as to what it could be? I am planning to unplug and re-plug everything tomorrow cause when i first turned the ignition after i finished the swap the seat started to move( i would thing going into the saved mode) but i hit the off button cause I didn’t wanted it to go down yet cause I hadn’t bolted everything.i then brought the seat all the way up so i can have free room to finish the installation.after i was done the set button doesn’t lid and the memory 1-2 now controls the drivers mirror.Any thoughts?

The new seat is in a new home. It is scared, it needs to be shown around and welcomed. Hugged even. :)

Seriously though, the seat just needs to "learn" all of its positions again. Basically, when you unplugged the old seat, it was in a certain position. Now, the new seat's motors are very likely not in the exact positions. So, when the seat moves and hits its stop earlier than the seat module previously remembered it, the module just stops working. Therefore, the memory only works for the mirrors and not the seat.

What you need to do is move all the seat's switches to all of their end positions. So, move the seat all the way back, then all the way forward.
Then move it all the way up, then down, recline all the way back, then forward, then move through all the lumbar positions similarly.

    Hope this helps.
