Also, the airbag connector is different on the front seats, at least between whatever year the seats I got were out of and the 2015s. I got the correct connectors, just need to figure out how to crimp the wires into them.
I'm not sure that the rear seats will be a direct fit. For the A4 there's a plastic cover and then a metal retainer bracket with a torx bolt in it. After you remove that you just need some elbow grease to get it off the outside bracket. I just wiggled it back and forth up and down and it released. I think there's a groove that it fits in.

That seems odd (airbag connector) as the seats should be a direct fit, I got my seats out of a newer model S4.

Side note. I can't figure out how to swap over my seat recognition sensor. Any ideas as to why I can't find the module on my S4 seats so that I can swap them over? I don't think my passenger airbag is functioning which is somewhat of a safety concern.

    I'd say so.

What exactly is the error code you're throwing?

And what's the part number on the A4 seat for the passenger occupancy sensor?

I'll have to scan it when I get home. It doesn't seem to recognize that there is a passenger.

Good information to have AFTER coming back from MTL no? lol

If I remember correctly, there was one moment where it would have been comforting to know the passenger airbag was working...

How about part number on the occupancy sensor?

I may know when you are referring to... The sensor is in my trunk. I can usually see my trunk from where I'm sitting but due to it snowing UP and SIDEWAYS (yes it is literally going up due to the laws of physics ceasing to exist outside of my building) my view is currently blocked.

How do you actually remove the side plastic piece on the seat where the electronic controls are? Just tug on it? I don't want to break it.

Also, what size triple square bit is needed for the bolts?

Not sure bolt size (it should be in the first post) but there is a screw under the plastic piece. Then you can carefully pry it apart.

    Thanks.

Anyone know if seats from a 2014 Allroad would fit into a 2009 A4? I have the measurement of the bolt holes that I need to confirm but wondering if someone knows this off the top of their head.

Yes, should fit. Although I think they are the same as the ones you currently have, so not sure why?

The S4 seats are nice, but hard to find and pricey. I also wanted something a little different with a chestnut brown color to replace the standard black.

Should look good. I got a set from Canada. There was another set kicking around those parts as well.

I used this diy to swap my A5 stock seats for S5 seats, worked out great!

The triple square tool is 10mm XZN and on a another notice, don't be scared when only one is plugged in, the electric controls don't work. They both need to be plugged in to function :)

Picked up my seats on ebay, just two weeks ago for $1500.

Complete functioning solution to get rid of the airbag light/POD fault for anyone who forgot to retain their original POD module after a seat swap:

    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...1#post12125461

Only works if you get the "not configured" fault. not the "electrical failure" fault on the POD submodule in the airbag module group.

Help with battery disconnect for swap

HEy guys doing a swap on my a5 with s5 seats, where Qdid you disconnect battery? In trunk or just 1 site that you can access under hood?
    Oscar

OTE=7speed;8922665]Here is a little of what I learned on my S4 seat swap experience.

    - Tools that are needed
    - Ratchet
    - Extension
    - Torx T27
    - 12 point Tox (Large)

Start by sliding the seat to the back and remove these covers

Under the covers are the bolts that need to be remove. Repeat for the rear.

Remove screws and pull the seats out. Then you should be here, old seat next to new

Notice the memory module on the drivers seat and the seat recognition module on the passenger

For those of you wit memory seats you will need to swap this module from your old seat to you new seat

For those of you without the seat memory option, you will need to remove all of this
    - side of the seat control panel and the attached harness
    - Don't let this scare you it is very simple and east to do

Once these modules are swapped simply place the seats back into their new homes. No programming needed

The rear seats are pretty self explanatory.
    - to remove the rear bottom seat, you simply pull up at the center of each passenger seat

The top halves have a couple steps
    - All that you need to do is pop up the plastic tab pictured below. Unscrew the Torx, and lift the metal cover.
    - You then need to unplug the airbag sensor under the rear passenger seat that is connected to the rear of the seat uppers
    - You then lift the seats up and away to remove them
    - Installation is in reverse

Hopefully with this help you can go from this

    to this

I am no expert so if I missed anything let me know and I'll add it to the post.[/QUOTE]

Hey guys hope everyone is starting new year well. This DIY post is on point. few additions that I made with todays swap for my 2008 A5 with S5 seats upfront. Your need a triplesquare 10mm for front hardware removal. In my area autozone had in stock. I haven't gotten any light but only drove car for 1 mile after install. for my driver side I dont have the memory seat function working and dont know why. .any ideas?

You have to swap the memory seat modules from the old seats to the new ones. Did you already try and do that or not yet? If you're not sure what it is, it's the gray plastic box.

I am in the middle of trying to pull the black box and harness from the driver seat on this DIY because i dont have memory seats but i do have power seats and it looks like pulling this whole harness is going to make me loose power to my seats.

    Any help is appreciated.

Edit- can i just unplug the black module and leave all the wiring? No power is going to any of it so i dont see why pulling it matters.

Pulling the harness to plugs on the side plastic trim would affect all the power controls so i dont see how that makes sense

Nm i read further into this thread and if i am correct i am suppose to pull all this wiring with the box and panel and replace it with my panel snd remaining harness. I missed where it said to add your harness and side plastic switch peice to the new seat.

If anyone can confirm that is correct I would appreciate it just to be safe.

I followed this step exactly and still have parking brake air bag and esp error.

I also swapped passenger sest modules and unplugged the black module under the driver seat for memory seats cuz i dont have memory but since i do have power seats i just left that whole harness for that box attached because i dont think that would cause issues there is no power going to any of that harness so that shouldnt matter.

Any help is greatly appreciated im out of ideas.

I just wanted to update this thread so that if anyone else is experiencing issues removing the parking brake, esp and air bag light the final solution for this was to swap the entire original harness from the driver seat. This problem only happens if your installing memory seats in a car without memory but with power seats.

The passenger sensor doesnt require being swapped only the sensor on the driver seat does. The only thing required on the passenger is the grey air bag module shown in thr DIY

Just wanted to be clear up any confusion I have with my upcoming swap-

I have base seats, memory and power and I am swapping to S4 seats that are memory and power as well.

All that needs to be swapped is the memory seat module from the driver seats and then the passenger seat recognition module plus the normal harnesses.

Is this correct? Just wanted to avoid any coding issues that may bring me to the stealership for component protection issues I've read about

Hey Everyone. Old thread, but I'm sure someone may be able to help!

I installed my S4 seats in my A4 last year, and weirdly, the heated seat function has never worked correctly-- as in, only the backs of the seats will heat, but the bottoms don't. Swapped everything like the other posters did, but this is the only odd issue.

Has anyone else encountered an issue with the airbag clips not matching up? I’m in the middle of a seat swap from B8 sport seats to B8.5 S4 seats and the clips look totally different. The S4 clips will not clip into the floor harness under the seat.

If you still have the heating elements from the A4 seats, try swapping those as well. The S4 ones may be no good?

That's weird. I thought they were the same. Is that for an actual airbag in the back of the seat or the sensor?

This is the clip at the bottom of the harness that runs up to the airbag in the seat. It connects at the base of the car under the seat where all the other connectors plug in. The B8 harness splits in half and the male connection stays attached to wires in the base of the floor pan.

Chris, you are going to have to get a wiring diagram and figure out what the differences are in those two vehicles. I ran into a similar issue with my Jetta TDI that I converted over to OEM European Recaros.

I wound up pulling the airbags out and swapping every item from the old seats to get the harness to connect. However, your issue seems to be a little different.

Getting a wiring diagram would again be a good first step.
