hhhmmm my DWS 06 are finally just wearing past the "S" marker. this means in a few months i can look into new rubber. yay! 30K + on these things and they are loud as hell, horribly loud and hydroplane like i've never experienced in my life (even on my S2K with DOT approved track tires...)

i will never buy another set of these tires. they were great for like 5000 miles... then they went down hill fast.

I hate my DWS, but only driving on them through winter, they'll never wear out

i will never buy another set of DWS 06. i'm that turned off by them. I got them because of the great reviews. i've seen a lot of people say they have wet traction issues with hydroplaning now. i paid good money for them so that i didn't have to get a new set for a while (560 A AA rating i think). but i'd rather of had to gotten a new set rather than deal with being so nervous in the wet. I've never been so non-confident in a set of tires.

its a shame. i loved them at first. I'd say the past 20K miles have been a nervous wreck when its wet out.

This was also a thing on the previous DWS tires as well. I ran them on my B5 S4 as the primary year round set up; during the summers with the random monsoon downpours that just dumps, I have had several instances where I would be driving at speed (55-65) and the B5 would feel like it was floating all of a sudden forcing me to take corrective action before drifting into something bad.

On the B6 S-Avant, I ran the DWS as my winter set up between November to March/April. The only time I felt like I hydroplaned was during the spring months when it rained back to back otherwise these tires are awesome in the snow and winter.

I was going to buy a set of the DWS-06s to use as my new winter set up but ya, that didnít happen. Anyways, donít discount the tires....they are great in the snow and winter-into-spring months.

i've had better in the winter... (thats what she said).

no, i agree that they are great all seasons for the winter for those who do not want to buy dedicated snow tires. anytime it rains though i'm extra cautious. this goes for melting snow as well.

I've had a couple of sets of the DSW's and they last a long time and once took me through an epic Ohio snowstorm.
I don't know anything about the '06's though.
This year I just decided to step up to the Michelin PS AS3+'s on both cars and have been extremely happy. And no more winter wheel/summer wheel swapping - I just decided that if we have a snow that those can't handle, I probably won't be driving in it anyway.

careful at Dominion, there are places where if you go off you will seriously fuck up your car. like you can't put a wheel off cause it will take the whole car with it, or bend your frame bend your frame. they seriously need to work on their runoffs

I had the DWS and then the DWS 06 on our XC90. That thing eats tires, so they did not last long. But I was pretty darn happy with both tires. Definitely left much to be desired when compared to my WRX (and the Allroad) with Blizzaks in the winter, but that is expected.

Now we have the Nokian WRG3 on the XC90. Man is that a great tire!! I highly recommend these things. Even though theyíre all season tires, I ran them as a winter tire on my Ď05 WRX when I was in Vermont (prior to going Blizzak) but this will be my first summer having them on the XC90. I donít see why it wouldnít be a solid all season for our vehicles. Kind of hard to come by, though.

    Have you been this season?

I actually went off last month @turn one and it was smooth, not VIR smooth, but smooth. Seems that theyíve heard our pleas and worked on it!

I had the DWS (originals) on my Honda Accord, wifeís civic, BMW 335d, and B8.5 S4.... and then the DWS06 on the B8.5 S4, and now as a winter set on the RS3.

Iíve loved the tire until the RS3. I donít know what has changed, but I wonít put these on next winter. The snow/rain traction has gone down considerably, and even in the dry I have the traction light flashing at me pretty much constantly. Iíll probably end up with a non-staggered Michelin Pilot Alpin setup next year for winter, and PS4S for the summer once I kill the P-Zeroís.

    .

I may just need a new car at this point which I cannot afford. Iím thinking Iím on the way to a catastrophic electrical failure. Rear wiper keeps blowing a fuse even after replacing the motor, mmi keeps cutting out and I have an optical error code. When I have the mmi powered down, I hear some weird noises every so often from what I think are the speakers (as if Iím getting a strange pulse going through the mmi, still have a rough idle even though the intake is clean, most likely a fuel pressure sensor which we think was causing my lean off idle codes in the winter.

Also have a leaking lower chain cover haha

New tires will be very low on the list.

Yay 127000 miles on an Audi!!!!

Oh and Iím still losing coolant somewhere in the system too. Lololol.

Checked all the ones I could find. I need to get to the battery tho when the weathers nicer and double check the main main ground.

If I get time and a nice day, my plan was to go through with my DMM and check everytbing i can reach.

    i would want this... but

yeah... i cannot has the afford of any SQ5 haha or the alternative that i would want (completely opposite vehicle) 4Runner TRD Pro, which are even more expensive than the SQ5 haha

only way i could afford it is if I somehow found a loan that would be comparable to my ~350 a month. Which would be nigh impossible. Student loans SMH. if i didn't have those i could afford a brand new SQ5 fully equipped...

Rabble rabble this is what I need to do to determine my issues with the mmi.

Sigh. Really need to get a rosstech. Iíve done pretty good so far with the Carista.

This guy had the exact symptoms I have with the sound cutting out and intermittent display issues.

So definitely need to get a scan of my stupid optical system. Lame. (His ended up being the Bluetooth module)
