Man I wish... gonna be a few weeks until I can get back to it. We are closing on our house near the end of this month. Once moving is all done I will have lots more time and a garage at my house, so that will greatly help things out.

It's killing me seeing it sit there right now but getting into a house is #1 priority for sure. No more renting an apartment and also renting a garage!!! Woohoo

Well guys, we are finally done with the purchase of our house. Officially have a garage to call my own. Been working on moving out of the garage I was renting for the past 2 years. Brought my engine over to the fab shop yesterday and got it dropped into place. Man I forgot what a tight fit it is.

Got the holes cut in the floors for header clearance all patched up too.

Unfortunately I found out while moving all my stuff out of the old shop, someone stole ALL of my Ingersoll Rand Titanium pneumatic tools. They made off with my 1/4, 3/8, 1/2 impacts... my matco 3/8 air ratchet... and my 1/4 lithium impact... people are such scumbags.

Great to see your project still alive and that you finally have a place of your own. I'm looking forward to more updates on this.

I hate it when people take things that are not theirs. The really sad thing is that they probably didn't take tools to use. They stole them to sell/trade for drugs.

Yeah I'm pretty sure I know who took them and it was definitely to sell for drug money... I can't prove anything at this point because I don't know exactly when it happened over the last 2 months... kinda sol... at least I got my own spot where I can leave my tools out if I want and don't have to worry!

I know it's been awhile, I am very excited to get back at it.

I am almost scared to post this as I can only begin to imagine the response I am going to get.

I have sold the chassis to a fellow Audi enthusiast who will be completing the car and racing it. I am selling it as a rolling chassis and I am keeping the engine. That being said, I have purchased another B5 A4 at will be getting dropped off to me Monday. I will immediately be swapping the 4.2 into it. This way I start with a street legal car I can get familiar with.

Now before you want to yell at me for not seeing this project to completion, just remember that there is no one who wants/wanted to finish this car more than me. Right now, It is just not financially possible to purchase some of the big ticket stuff I will need in order to race a car like this. Truck, trailer, race tires, fees, etc. I am not willing to let this project sit around for a few more years before I can race it. I'd rather someone use it NOW rather than later. On top of that I have some opportunities that have come up that I need to go after, so that hopefully in a few years, I WILL be able to own and run a full blown race car.

Racing is not a dead idea for me. I will be racing the new chassis I just bought this up coming spring. I plan to use that car as a learning tool and get my NASA license, how I really should have done this whole thing in the first place.

Another thing that everyone needs to understand, I build race car chassis for a living, everyday. As crazy as that cage seemed to some, I could reproduce that in a few days. In reality, that's all I have done to the chassis minus the clearancing for the headers. I am just switching to a different chassis. Please don't hate me. That 'submit reply' bottom sure looks scary right now.

    All Over!

    Welcome back, Tim.

And I fully understand where you're coming from. I have been involved with all manner of projects, for a long time. Like hunting for a house, the deal is never sealed until you say it is. You will swap cars quite a few times, until circumstances dictate, or your heart tells you it's the right one.

    I've changed from my original 1995 B5 as a base for my project, to a 2000 B5 2.5 TDI V6 Quattro. Now I'm eying up a B6.

I'm sure the street car will be just as impressive as the race car
