    Hi Zactastic,

Assuming that you have a premium plus non nav, looking at the ordering guide here http://www.audienthusiasts.com/Downl...USA+Retail.pdf I don't think you could have ordered a P+ without nav but with backup camera. I'm going to assume you need the nav to make it work.

The harness comes with a set of instructions also for the wiring. Its pretty generic but does outline what pins you need to connect the harness into on the existing plugs in the car. The confusing part was the CAN LOW and HIGH wires, it had you put them on Pin 14, but 14 was already used! Looking at how the connector was designed, there are banks of "CAN Lines" which i guess group the signals. I just used the next open slot in the connector in the same group. I used pin 19. One thing nice is the Audi connectors have the pinout on them.

Here is a picture I found of the CAN connector.
Sorry for a dumb question, but where is this CAN connector located?, its not on the CAN gateway is it?, if it is then I have a different 20 pin gateway with an optical input too!

I don't think this was answers yet. But if I have a prestige with rear sensors and Nav but now rear camera. What's the best option here to get it to work? Do I follow OP steps or is it a little different for me?

    Thanks in Advance.

I bought an aftermarket backup camera from www.carsgadget.com

It integrates perfectly, and was easy to install (it's plug and play), no programming required and looks OEM.

so do you still have to find a module though to use this kit? I do not have a backup cam and picket up a used module and handle/camera off of a wrecked car.

I am guessing you have to run the wires to the front like the others have had to because it comes with the tools to pull the radio?

It comes with the module you'll need and all the wiring / harness, etc Yes, you have to run the wires and replace the trunk handle with the camera/trunk handle. It does come with the removal tools.

The only thing I bought extra outside the kit was this which I would recommend:

Thank you. Very different approach than the retrofit with OEM parts.

So you literally just buy this package for $325 and you get everything except the removal kit?

Yes, at the time it didn't come with the plastic removal tools, now it looks like it does. I would get that Add-A-Fuse kit off Amazon, will save you some time and will be a cleaner install when connecting up to the fuse panel.

That was my question too. I picked up a used module and camera already so I will go the other route but had I not this would be cheaper and easier it looks like.

OK. I just ordered one. I have a 3G MMI. So my install will be a little different. The radio removal from the glove box is not the same correct? Everything else should be similar I assume?

It all should be pretty straight forward. If I had to do it again I could knock it out in under an hour. The hardest part for me was actually removing the existing trunk handle, even after I had the nuts removed which were holding it in and it was loose, it was difficult to pull out for some reason. Ultimately got it out by gripping the handle with a set of pliers and yanking it out, haha Replacing the handle with the camera integrated one, on the other hand, was really easy.

i just completed this installation with coding and have NO VIDEO SIGNAL.

in other words, when i put the car in reverse, noting new happens versus when i previously didn't have the camera installed.

the coding seemed pretty straight forward? and the fact that I could communicate with the module via VAG COM tells me that the module is powered up?

I connected the Can Hi/Lo to pins #14 and connected the Video Black/Translucent to #5/11 in the Blue connector.

    Any troubleshooting suggestions?

hey guys, I also connected Kufatec wiring kit on my Q5 with MMI 3G plus and ran wires on left side. I connected CAN H/L to 18 and 23 but backup cam module isnt powering on. I also dont see where to connect extra wire with pin and round ground pin. Any suggestions?

Solved and all works now. I had to run a power line via repair wire to replace fuse panel in right rear panel. I have also added a polarizing filter on camera to make images more sharp and crisp!!

Re-assign the CAN Bus in the green menu and it will work. try various CAN location assignments until you get it.

Bumping an old thread. I found this connector (I think) but see how to get it out, did you figure it out? @johnnySV maybe you can assist?

Great write up, I am attempting this now.

One thing I notice immediately after installing the camera, is that the latch only actuates when the trunk is open. When I shut it, the button on the new camera/handle doesn't function all of a sudden and I have to open with the key. Is this just a coding issue?

Not sure I follow. I just did this too and it works fine. I had to make a green menu change but nothing crazy.
