My AC decided to turn itself off half way to work. Second time the AC has turned itself off on me, but I can't figure out why. Hoping it's from having just a little to much refrigerant in the system.

That's pretty easy to check if you have a 0-150 psi low pressure charge gauge. Use this chart to determine if your static pressure is excessively high. It's best to check it first thing in the morning when all the temperatures under the hood have equalized with the ambient temperature. Clicky click

few weeks ago we had a big storm here in ny .. went to put my car in reverse and nothing was happening .. would go into limp mode trying to get it into D .. scanned it and came up with po706 - transmission range sensor ?? PRNSD would flicker a little and wouldnt engage in any gear . when it was in drive it would show N on the dash - so drove it home fine for some reason it didnt give me a problem .. but i havent driven the car in 3 weeks because its smoking oil because of a shitty valve job from the shop that built my motor .. owner refuses to answer my calls or texts so that he can fix the problem .. havent had the car back for even a year and its given me a million problems because he did a mediocre job .. so i started it up last night just to sit in it and was like let me see if its still in limp mode - when i 1 clicked the key and put it in tip it said 4 so i thought it was still in limp but u just confirmed thats normal so :) for that problem but :( for not having a functional car :(

^ no it doesn't. My car was running fine with no leaks. Swapped mounts and broke the heater core return and now having a mystery leak from the rear coolant flange.

Based on the chart and calculator, I should have been at 95-105 psi when I checked this morning, it looked to be more like 120-130 psi when I checked it. However, after running the AC for a little bit after driving around, I put it back on LO and max fan, checked the pressure while running and it was below the recommended pressure. Reading a little more about static pressure, low side and high side pressure, I think I'll just go to a shop and get it evacuated and recharged properly if I continue to have problems.

cheaper and less work to just get new axels, plus the install is simple

edit: I dont really mean cheaper but it comes out to nearly the same price when you get done ordering boots, shipping, grease, and everything

Okay so this has been very annoying. Driver front turn signal wasn't working. The bulb was intact. Parking lights worked no problem. After swapping in a new bulb the same issue is present. After that I swapped the bulb carrier from driver to passenger, passenger to driver. That fixed the issue.....for a few days. Now it sporadically works. For the most part the turn signal does not work while the parking light does.

Also my door ajar /low fuel, etc. bell is no longer sounding. Any clues on either of these issues?

This just happened on Wifey's Avant, too. From the searching I've done, it appears that the speaker located in the console has died...or rather, the connection to it. I was concerned after Wifey left her lights on twice within a month long period after if happened, but now it's actually quite nice to not have the car dinging all the time.

Well, I did contemplate just installing new axles. But after doing some reading on this in other threads, it seems that the Audi OEM axles are the best, and if you can save the CV joints from dying, they'll last a long time. So I'll try this first and see how it goes. Parts cost for all 4 front boots was a shade over $100 from Blauparts, and another $40 for the Schwaben long reach triple square socket kit from ECS.

I agree with your decision, just try and save the OEM as they are much more durable then aftermarket. It is a lot easier to just buy aftermarket axles and throw them on but I found out the hard way that it was a waste of time and money after a few axle changes. I believe being lowered puts much more stress on the axles and if you plan on staying lowered just stick to OEM. I'm sure others have had success with aftermarket but I for sure wasn't one of them.

Yeah it has its pros having it out as well as the cons. I just wondering if it is related to the turn signal issue. Any idea on that?

It sounds to me like your issues are two different issues. I would probably try a new bulb carrier, unless it's ridiculously expensive.

I think they are about $35. The one thing the held me back from buy one is that the issue didn't follow the carrier when I swapped sides with them as well as bulbs

Well the problem with looking at this thread is you're only going to hear about what went wrong. There's no thread about what went right with your B6 today, maybe we should make one of those to get a positive outlook on our cars. There is lots of things that don't go wrong but we generally don't talk about them.
