Starting to notice this morning the fluttering sound when letting off the gas. When getting back on the gas (even at 5% throttle) the flutter goes away. Is this most likely a the cause of a bad cat or clogged? If so, I have a JHM tuned 3.0 with exhaust, would going catless or HFC cause any issues? I know smell is of concern as Ive read in other threads.

You can have no cats and be okay CEL wise with our JHM 3.0L Tune.

Yeah Jake I knew that much... but I was more so concerned about from what Ive been reading smell. Essentially Id like to go with a catless downpipe, but was considering going with a HFC or gutting them entirely.
But this still brings me to the current issue until I fix... what could be the cause of that fluttering noise on deceleration?

Most people don't notice the smell until the reach a stoplight, and even then its normally not very strong (unless you are behind your own car). Then again, some people are more sensitive to the smell than others. What muffler setup are you using? Some customers have reported that they smell it less with chambered style mufflers compared to straight through style.

As for the issue you are having, its hard to tell without actually having the car here to diagnose. Any other symptoms you could provide?

I am currently running 2.5in piping with an x-pipe and magnaflow mufflers. This set up was run on B6JoeS4's for awhile prior to him selling it.
As far as any other symptoms, not really. You can only hear the fluttering when deceleration. Its basically when there is no exhaust being pushed out. Ill have to try and take a video of the noise on my way home from work.
The only other things that I can think of are that Im getting pretty bad MPG right now and at times can feel a little sluggish in the low rpm range. Right around 3k it kicks in powerwise.

My CEL came back on for my catalytic converters that are on their way out. (3.0)

My brake pad warning light came on despite my pads and rotors being fine. Guess I'll have to unplug the sensor!

That's the problem, was in Edmonton last weekend and as soon as I hit city limits you could see them everywhere (170th is a mess) so you slow down.

Here they carefully spread them out so when you do actually come across one you are not only not expecting it but you are going 80 when you hit it.

CEL came on (SAI pump needs replaced - planned). New clutch is now slipping and needs replaced. Believe a spring broke (would explain sound I'm hearing when going over bumps - light metal sound). Since the clutch is new, it will get replaced under warranty.

Well what is the fluid coming out? PS fluid? Mine dumped PS out the boot = Had to replace rack. Can be done for $200-$250 if you do the work yourself.

Sorry to hear Jordan, at least you didn't have to pay for a tow I guess. Are you going with an OEM pump?

Great thread. Can a B5 guy play too?

Car is on downtime from manifold cracking. Need my car back. Family beater is on it's last leg, so putting my sister's car back on the road (she is not in the county most of the time). No way I could keep this car as a dedicated "reliable" daily driver. But it is indeed my daily driver. Need to pick up my own cheap beater.

Got a CEL on the way to work, p1176. On the way home started to sound like DP ripped in half and lost some power. Stayed that way for a few lights when under load..Then boost returned to normal and started acting normal.

Everytime I'm shifting into gear the car seems to rock. Tranny mount maybe...

f***in exhaust mani to turbo bolts keeps on getting loose. slightly grind-ed the mani and the nuts so JB weld can find something to grab onto but still no luck -_-.

    Let's see:
convert from bolts to stud & nuts - check
    nord-lock washers - check
those nuts with oval holes(heavy duty) - check
grind-ed and JB welded - check

Is it because I am cheating and only did bolt to stud conversion for only 2 of them and not all 3???
reason why is I'm running FT exhaust mani and they're a b!tch to install....
Removing exhaust mani is the only way I can get access to the inner most turbo bolt which I'm pretty sure is the main culprit and the one that starts backing out first.
