If you notice your turn signal/cruise control switch has a printed mark "P"

this is for Parking Lights which is used in Europe mostly, and this is used when parking on side of the curb or you are parking in heavy fog, and want to be
visible. This works by pushing turn signal forward and into down position activates Driver side parking lights only or
up position activates Passenger side parking lights; it is the same way as turn signal switch

Audi sold in North America didn't have this feature pre-wired; I have seen few BMW that had this pre-wired and working.

The conversion is very simple, you need 3 repair wires
Each of those wires comes with two pins wired to each end
    Part# 000-979-227 x 1
    Part# 000-979-133 x 2 (you need 3 ends with pin)
Additional 2-3 feet of 22 AWG wire will be needed
    Tools
    Wire cutter/stripper
    Soldering gun,
    Shrink tubes
    Hex keys T-25, T-30
M12 triple-square bit (for steering wheel bolt)
    8 mm key
    13 mm key for M12 triple-suare bit
    10 mm key for battery
    Small screwdriver

You need to get access to turn signal switch and ignition switch harness and headlight switch. Both column covers need
to come off, and for that reason steering wheel must be removed,

    Step 1.
Disconnect battery, you be accessing ignition switch wires and removing airbag

    Step 2

Removing Airbag on 4 spoke steering wheel
Release steering column adjuster and pull steering wheel as far out as possible and up position.
    position the steering wheel vertically.

    Disconnect negative battery

on 4 spoke steering wheel there are two holes on the back of the steering wheel using long torx T30 insert and
turn the torx clock wise about 90 degrees, it will release the spring catch for airbag , do the same on the other side
hold the airbag so you don't lose it,
remove the center yellow plug from airbag and place airbag upward

Remove the center bolt using 12 point key
before removing the steering wheel , make marks on the center of the steering wheel where it sits on the column shaft

with black or white marker so when putting back you know the center position , usually there is a center mark done on

both the shaft and steering wheel

Removing Airbag on 3 spoke steering wheel
Release steering column adjuster and pull steering wheel as far out as possible and up position.
put the steering in center position
    Disconnect battery

there are two torx bolts using T30 lose the airbag , disconnect the harness from the clock spring plug and put airbag

    aside
Remove the center bolt using 12 point key
before removing the steering wheel , make marks on the center of the steering wheel where it sits on the column shaft

with black or white marker so when putting back you know the center position , usually there is a center mark done on

both the shaft and steering wheel

    Step 3

    Lower the knee bolster

    Step 4

Remove the upper and lower column cover to expose the electrical connections on the left side of the column.
I have removed both switches for the purpose of taking photos; it is not required to remove them

    Step 5

Disconnect ignition connector, and lift the pink insert from the connector, it will be easier to insert the new wire
First find pin marked with letter "P" on the ignition switch,

Using wire #000-979-227 insert into the harness connector that corresponds to pin marked with letter "P" and lock the
pink insert back into the harness connector, put the connector back to ignition switch.

    Step 6

Disconnect the 12 pin connector from the turn signal switch
Using flat screw driver push the pink insert down which unlocks the pin hold lock,

Now using wire #000-979-133 insert to PIN 4 on the 12 pin connector, then solder both wires together

    Step 7

Now we need to run two repair wires # 000-979-133 from the turn signal switch to the headlight switch harness and tap to Existing wires
On the 12 pin connector find pin 9 and pin 10 both should be empty insert both wires # 000-979-133 to each connection
and lock the pink insert back into lock position

    Step 8

cut 2 feet of 22 AWG wire into half and solder to each end of the wires you just installed. Mark each end of the wire

with tape so you know which pin they came from
Once you do that run wires along the loom of wires and secure them and pull to the harness headlight connector.
On the headlight connector harness find pin 13 and pin 14

You need to tap to each wire
from Pin 9 of the turn signal to pin 13 on the headlight connector
from pin 10 of the turn signal to pin 14 on the headlight connector
Solder and seal with shrink tubes

Once everything is done, check make sure all wires are secured and sealed.
Re-install all the parts in reverse, the column covers, steering wheel with airbag, knee bolster and then reconnect battery,

Now with ignition off, no Key you can do the test, push the turn signal switch forward and either switch to up or down position
and you should see your parking lights light up, you will hear chime sound, which is normal , once you lock the car it
will stop but you parking lights will be lit on either driver side or passenger side

Here is photo of the driver side parking lights selected

    Enjoy
