Another Estoril Blue! (high pic content)

After 8 months of ownership and 12,000 kms I have become a big fan of this new (for 2013) colour. I ordered the car in April 2012 and had reservations regarding the colour since I had not seen it in the flesh. I had also been driving black cars for the last 20 years (you can make your own assumptions regarding this continual lack of good judgement). I credit my "better half" with pushing me towards the decision. At the time she assured me that estoril blue "isn't the walk on the wild side you think it is". I've included several pictures under different lighting conditions that show the "range" of this paint.

As an aside, ownership experience to date has been flawless. By this time with my previous 2010 S4 I had already gone through a water pump and thermostat.

That's a real nice color, great choice not my bright sprint blue favorite but definately a nice subtle color.

Really Really Love this color,, I was debating on this color or the Glacier White.. I only picked the Glacier White cause it was $475 instead of the $1175? lol I really couldnt justify spending another $1200 on top for a paint color.. especially on a near $60k car... but thats just me,, I guess Im cheap.. lol

I hear you, but fortunately in Canada Estoril Blue is priced the same as all other metallic and pearl paints, so there is no premium for it.

I have a 2013 estoril blue s5 .. I was originally gonna go with sepang blue... But saw estoril blue in. The showroom and thought about saving 2 k and haveing a better colour (IMO) as well . I love it. But when the car is clean and it's sunny outside you see every little scratch or swirl. It's so annoying.

Want to actually try gta In detail. Do you reccomend opti coat? Cause I definately want a stronger clear coat. How long does it last ?

I am very anal when it comes to my car and I wouldn't trust anybody else. I even decline the complementary Audi car wash when I go for service at the dealership lol

Kevin is a great guy to deal with and will teach you a lot about detailing. Marco is really good too for clear-bras, etc. I would suggest you shoot Kevin an email and he should get back to you relatively quickly...very busy guy.

Opti-coat is a sealant and is permanent. I talked about this with Kevin last year when I got my car and I thought of getting it then but later figured I would test the waters and see how my paint holds out. Well, after my first winter with this car, I got a bunch of swirls so I've decided to get it opti-coated this summer haha. Now this will not completely prevent swirls, it will make it really easy to clean your car and light dirt wont stick as much. Making it easier to wash you also decrease your chances of getting swirls.

I am set on getting it. Just want to get my new wheels installed and for better weather to make its way to the GTA. I think its really worth it.

I've had the springs about 1 month now. Ride is a little bit stiffer than stock but not harsh. Overall I'm pleased with the end result and the degree of drop. Worth every penny, IMO.

Yes, this is Kevin's work! I had the car opti-coaated back in August, right after delivery. Over the winter I picked up a few long scratches on top of the trunk and roof that were noticeable in certain light conditions as well as some that were quite deep on the hood (parking lot a--holes I suspect). I brought it to Kevin last week-end. He got all of the minor scratches out and was able to fill the deeper ones so that 90% of the damage is gone. After the repairs the car was opti-coated again. I am a believer in the product and would highly recommed it, especially for this colour. It definitely makes it easier to keep clean. Lastly, on my other cars which were not opti-coated I often got surface blemishes from bird shit, tree sap, bugs, etc. With opti-coat, these same blemishes seem to heal themselves and disappear after a couple of days.

As for Kevin at gtaindetail, I wouldn't take my car anywhere else for this type of work. Good guy and knows his business.

EBC is great. I get lots of compliments on my EBC S4. Enough about that...tell me about the ZL1 in the background of one of your photos. Is that yours? Do you track it?

Sorry to report that I'm not the owner of the ZL1. It was in for detailing at the same time. An impressive looking car and looks like the beast it is!

I'm just glad I haven't seen another in South FL. I'd guess 90% of the b8+ S4's I see here are black or white, 50/50 distribution, with the odd silver one thrown in. Don't see a lot of S4's to begin with, which is strange IMO in this land of all things exotic.

For a car with a price point that does not put you into a very exclusive club, an estoril blue s4 is quite a rare bird (which is good). I also think the S4 looks incredible in lava grey (a CDN colour option) and I don't see those either.

Yep. The Audi dealer I ordered my S4 through only stocks black, silver, and white cars. The result is that us folks with blue and red can enjoy exclusivity. I pulled in to get gas a few days ago and saw a red S5 with the same TSW rims I have. It is the first time I have seen a red S5. Met the owner and asked how he found a red S5. He ordered it so he could get the red.

Got it done at Krown on Lakeshore in Mississauga. I don't be-grudge the premium for it. I had it on my last S4 and was completely happy with it. I've heard the comments of blah-blah-blah you don't live in Florida, blah-blah-blah you don't have to pay that much for a tint. As you know, the summers in T.O. can be quite hot and humid and my car often bakes in the sun while at work all day. When i get in, the car is warm, not pizza-oven hot, and keeps pretty cool when driving as it tends to reflect heat and I don't have to crank the a/c. I spend a little $ on some premium products (hyper-optik, opti-coat) for, what i think, is a fantastic car. I also don't mod much as I don't keep my cars very long.

Great color man, the B8.5 grill and LED's are def a step up from the B8.
