No, our filters are made in the USA for us exclusively, the are deep pleat, oiled cotton gauze. Our filters are superior to AFE and perfectly safe to use on your S5.

No, $179 was the introductory price for the release. The current retail is $199

Sorry, I shouldn't used the word "safe to use". I am more concern about the filtration as I live in a polluted area.

So i just installed my eurocode intake last night am I am very happy with it. I decided it over the roc euro because for my personal opinion, i thought the roc euro might get a little too obnoxious. So i narrowed it down to the AWE and Eurocode Tru Fit. After comparing the two, they are essentialy the same thing, a silicone hose and a filter, however the Eurocode was about half the price. Upon receiving the intake, i could tell it was made of high quality, and the silicone tube is a lot larger than the stock tube, so it should allow a lot more air into the engine. Install was pretty easy, if i didnt make a few dumb mistakes(like forgetting to mount a clamp back on), it would have only taken about 25 minutes. The sound of the supercharger is really only noticable when you step on it, however, even at low RPM's, you hear more "engine" sound.

If anyone has any questions about the install or what parts you are supposed to re use and which ones you arent, please feel free to ask.

It has a 50,000 mile service life. Why are you worried about that now? Or are we supposed to clean the filter every couple of miles?(@eurocode) I have a friend with a b6 S4 who has an awe intake and hasnt cleaned the filter once lol and has over 100k miles on the car, his car still runs like a champ though and is quite fast for a stage 2+ b6 s4, he actually pulled on a dct M3.

I cleaned the snow scoop, ended up leaving it in because I didn't want to deal with cleaning my filter more frequently. Maybe I'll take the snow scoop out in the future. Cutting that piece out def increase the supercharger whine. It's still not too loud but sounds great. I haven't opened the car up yet on the roads but it sure seems like with the piece cut out the filter is going to be able to breath much easier.

^ I'm thinking it's there as a dirt/dust/debris deflector, although there is also that fine-mesh screen in the intake scoop upstream of it so that would be a very "belts & suspenders" approach.

Maybe it's just a sound suppressor? In any case, this looks like a quick and fun DIY project for me this coming weekend. With my newly installed AWE exhaust I'm finding that I want a little more supercharger whine to balance things out.

Sound clip of the TruFit intake and filter. I removed the plastic piece from the grill to the airbox, but did not cut the deflector out.

When I had the Milltek system on my B6 S4, the general guidance at the time was to use the K&N filter cleaning kits they sell in auto parts stores. Is that no longer the go-to method?

Sure it is stated for 50k mile service life, and I am also sure that the filter isn't going to magically make the dust and dirt it attracts disappear. ^_^

I got an -email from them, and here is the respond.

"The filter is a dry and single use. We do have an affordable replacement filter when you need it."

I thought it was oiled and seems like i misread something on the product description. Anyway I placed my order and hopefully they will come in sooner than expected.

Video is from a cell phone, so audio probably isn't the best. Honestly, I think it's the perfect amount of whine. more subdued than the roc euro. I imagine cutting the deflector on the airbox will give you more whine. lol bitches love things

What is the point of both the deflector and the filter in the grill for? To be, they are just making it more restrictive. I am contemplating taking both of them off, the only negative i see is that you might have to clean the filter more frequently..

I just don't understand the hard plastic deflector. It's just odd and very restrictive. The mesh netting in the very front by the grill though I can understand it filtering out the debris that's sucked through. The holes in that netting are like the smallest things I've ever seen. I just cleaned my well. At high suction I really don't think it restricts that much. Just cutting out the plastic thing seriously helped the intake whine so much more. I love it. Not to loud but much much more, actually noticeable now where before, the Eurocode intake didn't have much sound.

We have a filter service kit, $14.99. It includes 12oz of cleaner spray and 8oz of recharge oil.

50k is the typical service time but may vary with environmental conditions.

This information is incorrect, I'm going to check our outgoing email server and have a conversation with whoever sent it. Our filter is oiled, dual layered cotton gauze. We do have a filter cleaning kit available.

What I was told was the replacement filter price may be less of a hassle than clean/oiling the filter, not sure if the replacement price of the filter has been shared. For me I will probably just replace it at 50k rather than clean it.

Yes, please check it . I guess I am the only guy from Hong Kong who order the intake from you on ebay recently. So it wont be too hard to find that e-mail.

Was it hard to cut off? I am going to try and cut it off with a razor blade knife while the intake is still on. I dont want to take the whole thing off again. The whine isnt as loud as the roc euro correct? I dont want it to be that loud lol.

Not even as close to as loud as the Roc Euro. A razor blade will never cut it off. It's freaking thick. You're going to have to take it all apart and take the piece out and use a dremal saw or hack saw. I didn't have a dremel saw so I hacked sawed that sucker off and sanded the edges. I'm a novice at best at this crap and the whole project probably took about an hour give or take.

Damn, that sucks, that is just reassuring me that I need to take that thing off, it really makes no sense to have that there, there has to be some better air flow with it gone, wouldnt you agree? And I will probally use a hack saw to take it right off then. Ill sand it down nice and what not so the dealer wont even notice ;)

I took it apart, looked directly into the airbox and you can only see the bottom of the filter. When you cut this thing out, it opens the whole thing up so you can now see the entire filter, air is now flowing directly into the filter. It has to increase airflow. I'm pretty sure I just shaved off 0.02 seconds on my 0-60 and quarter mile times :-) But in all seriousness, it has to help the breathing.

LOL, plus 5whp... I agree, I am definitey going to do this, i might even take out that screen in the grill, they are literally the smallest holes i have ever seen in a filter. It cant be necessary, Id rather replace my filter 10k miles earlier or something.

I don't know. I had it open with the stock intake pipe and filter, and the filter was definitely a little bit dirtier than everywhere else when I changed it to the Eurocode setup.

I like the sound as it sits, don't want to make the car sound too cheap.

I agree, it sounded really good, and it must be louder than with that piece of plastic not cut out.

Thanks.. I am thinking if someone removed the bottom half of the stock airbox, that it will definitely be louder. lol

Then the top would have nothing to screw into and it would just be haniging there and move all over the place though...

I got it yesterday, the hose didn't come wrapped in a plastic bag and it took me 30 min to clean out the dust inside.

Also the silicon side of the hose is not as smooth as I expected, it is like 6.5 out of 10 kind of smooth. ( sorry for my broken English)

I just got it installed 1 hour ago, and did a little test drive, surly it gives out good superchager wine. It will be great if it comes with some kind of installation tips.

30 minutes? Why didn't you just wash it out and then dry it before installing? Washing it with water and soap is the best way to remove stuff stuck to it inside and out. It's safe to do, I've done this to numerous silicone intake tunes, no issues.

Mine was installed at Eurocode several months ago. In my opinion it has just the right amount of supercharger whine, has excellent build quality, improves throttle response and you can't beat the price point. A red hose in the future would add a nice amount of bling.

I have to take my words back. the intake does not give much sound improvement.

Last night, it was loud and sound amazing, but then I found out I did not fit the air box well, and there was a 1/4 inch gap between the top and lower part of the box. After I seal it up, all the amazing sound was gone... Performance wise, it seems like the respond from kick down is improved.

I agree with you, this intake does not sound all that much louder to me than the stock one. I suppose you could do the old trick where you cut a hole in the bottom of the airbox to get more sound....but I don't think I would go that route on this car.

For whatever it's worth, with my Eurocode intake and completely stock airbox (i.e. with that front 'deflector' flap still in there), and with my AWE exhaust w/ stock downpipes, I can hear my supercharger whine under moderate to heavy acceleration.....point being, it's loud enough to not get drowned out by exhaust note, road noise, and low-medium radio volume.

Cutting that piece out def increase the supercharger whine. It's still not too loud but sounds great. I haven't opened the car up yet on the roads but it sure seems like with the piece cut out the filter is going to be able to breath much easier.
All this will do is suck in hot engine bay air...

You should record your intake temps before and after to see how it works out. I might be wrong...

Its very hard to properly modify a stock air box, what you might think is a great thing to remove took engineers several months to perfect. In general you want an enclosed box with access to fresh cold air protected from engine bay heat.

You also want enough air flowing in and a filter that can pull enough CFM at WOT. 90% of aftermarket filters were not designed with this in mind most companies pick a filter that fits in their location they want with zero thought into what would be optimal.

So for our cars to maintain 12 psi (stage1 tune) stock tune drops off after 4500 iirc. Is a 7.2" long air filter or 110 square inches of surface area.

This filter appears to go slightly beyond the needed numbers for 12 psi possibly in the 13-14 psi range. Though without the exact size specs and CFM flow I cant be 100% sure.

Just thought I'd share some fun facts, I spent over a year designing an optimal intake and custom size air filter for my turbo RX-8 I am really into intakes I have no idea what my obsession is with them...

Personally, I want to express my appreciation for those being frank and saying you don't hear much supercharger whine. I'm one of the very few around these parts that doesn't like it, so having the option of an intake that improves performance and only lets the whine out at WOT or heavy acceleration is music to my ears. I hear enough whining from my kids!
