Your car looks great. Have you considered painting your rims in gloss black?

I never was a fan of the black rims ... Not sure why ... just does not tickle my fancy at all.

Where did you get your honeycomb protective grill (used on your fog covers and behind your RS4 grill). It matches the RS honeycomb perfectly well.

Fog lights is OSIR (worst fit ever). Behind the grille is custom thing I made up myself.

What are the colors (part numbers?) of the tape you are using for your stripes? How close is the read to the color of the S4 badge?

Pretty close actually ... don't be fooled from the pics ... due to the filters/editing the stripes tend to stand out wayyyyyy toooo much (And I end up being too lazy fixing them).

The actual color you can see HERE. I brought the material from that site as well.

Can you explain the process you are doing the design for the strips? Did you photoshop them on pictures of your car then get them printed? Did you print them/cut them yourself? I never was a fan of "decals" but damn that looks good and is very tastefully done.

Well there is a method to the madness yes ... It goes something like this:

    1. Whatever the end result is do not care what X, Y or Z thinks about it ... if you like it ... it stays.

    2. Get at least 2-4 photos of the car from the same side but different angles ... the hardest thing by far for me is to make a stripe or any design look good from all angles ... making it look good from one is trivial.

    3. Once you have an idea of what you want design wise Photoshop comes into play. There the critical thing is the color/shape/position of your design. Also note that the material won’t match 1 to 1 with your design so you have to have some "wiggle" room.

    4. Once you nailed the design in PS then comes the hard part ...

    5. Cutting ... it sounds easy and no big deal... but matching the carbon fiber lines to the angle you want is not easy. I wasted quite a few 3M Dinoc pieces until I get the right angle/length/shape etc. I cut all myself using scissors/rulers and medical scalpels.

    6. Once you have the stripes/shape ... comes the harder part ... placing the stripes on the car and making sure that you keep the angles from the PS design true. Also making sure that the edges are covered and (this is very important) edges sealed.

    7. Once all that is done you have to park the car and take the same photos you did @ step 2. If you like the result in the photos then you are there :)

    8. One thing to have in mind is that photos do not do justice to Audi models since B5 in my opinion (that design is just classic) and sometimes the car will just look sick in real life but when you get a photo (lens play big role here! – 14-24mm tends to make the B8 look sick!) you won’t like it as much. Even now there are few angles which I am not 100% still … which is why 3m Dinoc is great since I can always change it etc.

Here is an example of the design in PS:

    And the final result:

Hmmm.... mysterious woman.... You should do a montage with her way off in the distance, like at the top of the road in that last shot, then coming closer.

I didn't realize it was CF tape. Can you take a few close-ups, please? I want to see what you mean about getting the lines in the right direction.

Love the progress and choice of parts. Regardless of everyone's opinion on the stripes, it's a well put together build. However, I was a bit disappointed at your 1/4 ET times. With all your power mods, you should be in the low 12s. Any updates on more recent 1/4 times?

Yep, I agree ... best time is 12.5 so far but since then I added few mods so I do think it will be in the lower 12s. We will see when the weather gets colder in FL :)

Can you post a close-up of your airdam if you get a chance? I want to see the CF lines and the cover you put on the air-splitter.

For sealing the edges, do you just have a thin brush and paint on a line of 3M 3950? Or something else?
