Akrion - 2011 Ibis White B8 S4 Project "Timmy" (DSG)

Ok ... I wanted to do this long time ago but for whatever reason never had time to etc. So here we go ...

The basics:

- 2011 B8 S4
- DSG
- Sport Diff
- Titanium Package

First shots:





From the start I knew the car wont stay stock for long so I "struggled" to get through the first 15K miles (wanted to make sure nothing is wrong with the engine etc before I started the tuning - crazy long wait for some I know :)).

I decided to brake the tuning into phases and each phase would add not only performance improvements but also something little (or big) on the exterior. I did so many Photoshop "what ifs" that at this point my wife does not even bother to ask or say anything when I am looking at the screen and "paining" the car :)

So ... the phases


Phase 1:

1. EuroCode Alu Kreuz Billet Aluminum Drivetrain Stabilizer
2. Deval carbon fiber rear valence
3. Deval carbon fiber front lip
4. OSIR carbon fiber fog lights surrounds
5. AWE exhaust with resonated downpipes (Sound check)
6. AWE intake
7. Custom front grille (RS honeycomb style)
8. 3M DI-NOC (Graphite) wrap of the side reflectors (aka Ti-code)
9. 3M DI-NOC (Black) wrap of the bottom part of the side mirrors
10. Custom + sign to top phase 1 off (Not kidding) - (Since I got a ton of PM regarding the + ... you can BUY IT HERE)
11. VAG-COMed

Phase 2:

1. APR ECU Tune (Fully Loaded), running on 93 octane.
2. APR Pulley
3. Eurocode Überlegenes Stabilisatoren System (ÜSS)
4. Custom designed stripes giving the project very unique look on the road.

* The Rings got scrapped after the 1st week :) ...





Phase 3:

1. JHM Rotors which decreased the unsprung mass with about 24lbs total.
2. MORR VS8.2 19”x8.5 which decreased the unsprung mass with about 28lbs total.
3. APR CPS Cooling system.
4. RS4 style grille with S4+ badge.

1. APR ECU update to version 2.2
2. UPS Motorsports Intake.
3. STASIS/Alcon 390mm BBK.
4. Phase 4 "signature" stripes :)

:) To each their own as they say ... Phase 4 completes the look and those "strips" play a big role there ... you may like it after you see the "final" look. After all ... this is only phase 3 :)

Thanks guys! The stripes are part of a bigger "vision" which I am finally getting close to fully complete. Will be done in Phase 4 and I promise the photos will be worth checking out :)

Have always enjoyed seeing your build thread man! Very nice, clean ride and tastefully done. To each their own on vinyls on your car, I know most think it's too "ricey", but I say, be bold and do what YOU like! Kudos to you bro!

I was looking through your pics and noticed you were on stock hight right up to the end... that really completed the look for me... What suspension are you set up on?

Haha Thanks! Since I am into photography I can tell you for a fact that with the B8 platform pics usually do not do justice and you have to see the car in person to really judge the look/stripes.
I have been on quite a few meets and so far not a single person has said that the stripes did not look good on the car etc. Not that I would care if they said anything against them but just saying :).

I was not into tuning at all before this "project" ... I actually made fun of people who buy $50K+ car to get from A to B and then "invest" another $20K+ into something that constantly depreciates ... little that I know all that means nothing once you start and get the tuning "disease" and all that counts is the smile on your face once you press the pedal or when you get out of the car and have to fight that urge to look back @ the car again ... and again ... and again :)

Thanks! As I say the stripes are acquired taste :) ... don't judge them on the pics ... you have to see them in person.

The suspension is KW Adjustable springs paired with the Adjustable control arms. I did not position the photos well in terms of when I did the actual suspension work.
I am a total fan of the KW so far. The car feels great and looks just like I want it to ... not too low and not too high.

I liked the stripes so much I posted them in that "decal" thread I'm trying to get going.


How is the CF air-splitter holding up? I like the look, but don't trust the durability. A softer plastic might work better for me.

Thanks! I will take a look @ that thread.

The CF splitter so far is holding up fine. Cant complain ... I have not had it for very long (15K miles) so I cant talk about how durable it will be going forward etc.

All were on 93 octane with more than half of the tank full :(
