Facelift E-Codes: Headlight Range Control Error

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey guys,

My car is equipped with non-adaptive lights, so I bought some non-adaptive e-codes for the car. I installed them last night and I am getting a headlight range control error.

The e-codes have a three ballast connector spots, whereas the US-spec lights only have two. I transferred the two ballasts from the US-spec lights to the e-codes, but there is still one ballast spot open on each of the lights. The missing ballast spot on the e-codes is on the top of the light fixture.

    Top of US-spec lights

    Top of e-codes

Is headlight range control an additional option in Germany? I know the e-codes are non-adaptive, I am not getting an adaptive light error. I VAG-COM'd the car and erased the codes. The error came right back.

    Help! Thanks!

Did your headlights come from germany or somewhere else? I remember a member posting a thread about ecodes from the UK actually being different than the ones that came out of germany. I think they required special vag com coding or something

Edit: im gonna go pop my hood and see what my ecodes look like

Facelift E-Codes: Headlight Range Control Error

These came from Germany. Ya, we in the US can't run the UK lights because the light cutoff is for right side drive cars.

If you could take a quick photo, that would be awesome! Are you non-adaptive?

Ok, I bought them from a user on here. I contacted him. Thanks for snapping the photos. Can somebody with adaptive lights snap a photo of the top of their lights?
