    bira brakes?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
ok so i picked up a donor car and it has a "bira stage one boxter brake kit"
i have no idea what this is and apparently to access their site you have to pay or something?
does any one have any info on this brake kit and what exactly it consists of?
i could find almost zero information on this kit.
im 2 hours away from the car atm so i have no idea what is on it.
i basically would like to know if this is worth selling or throwing onto my car which has stock brakes and what the swap entails.

    thanks

It's not as popular as it once was.

    Here's the website for BIRA.

so its basically like one step above an a8 upgrade?

    Yea, it's an old-school webpage.

I'd say more like two steps above the A8 upgrade. You are moving from the stock calipers to a four piston/pot caliper.

Yea, if you're not keeping the parts car, swap them out.

    Plug and play.

Make sure to see if the rear brakes aren't upgraded (SS lines or something).

I think there were some 996tt caliper/993tt rotor setups by BIRA as well! I have the info at work and will look it up tomorrow!

    bira brakes?

    Thanks!
I think this is just the regular stage one with the boxtster calipers. I believe it's basically what ecs sells as their stage 2 bbk.

Boxter caliper with A8 rotor is one of the best brake choices for the B5 A4.

It's simple, easy, highly effective, and doesn't require upgrading the rears. I've tracked and pushed my Boxter/A8 setup quite a bit with great success. Far more consistent.
