No, you are wrong. Tune2air does control through the MMI system, just as if your apple device was physically plugged in. What it doesn't do, is control apps on the phone, like Pandora, Spotify, etc. It will still stream the audio, and depending on the app, the title as well, but hitting next track will go to a song in your device's library. Currently, no bluetooth streaming does this, so it's not a lack of a feature.

Yes you're right the MMI controls will automatically skip tracks on the device and not in the app. Titles seem to work well with Spotify, Pandora seems to lag. Have not really used any other music apps so I can't comment on others.

Interesting. Thanks for the exchange there gents. Sounds like since I'm using a droid, and streaming Spotify, the only benefit for the Tune2air is the presentation of the title on the display. Which isn't enough to warrant the additional cost to me.

Thanks again gents, you've made my month!

The tune2air is actually cheaper $99? compared to 109?

Compared to? I got the cable/ receiver combo from netmagi for 95 bucks+shipping. Looks like he sells the receiver alone for 25. I don't think you can use the tune2air without the modified cable, but I'm not sure.

    Waze or Google Maps Directions?

For any of these BT connections, do they also allow voice announcements from Waze, Google Maps etc to come over the connection to the MMI (which seems to be done as if it were a short voice call rather than streaming)? I'm mainly interested whether this works with iPhones (6S in my case). Thanks.

When I used the Tune2air in my 2011, the voice notifications from Waze came through. You just have to enable it in the Waze settings. I actually had to disable it, since it keep startling the shit out of me when it would announce a hazard when I wasn't expecting it.

What if there was a way to completely bypass symphonys, concerts, MMI2/3G Highs & Lows, etc and (almost) instantly upgrade your B8 to a B9:

I've been following Daniel's progress for some time and what he has achieved almost single handedly is nothing short of exceptional... Have a look...

    Yo,

I was about to buy the one from A2DP4AUDI product (and it looks like it's a solid deal), but was told it'd be about $180 because I'd have to buy the extra power cable thing.

I decided to give the Bovee 1000 (Tune2Air / WMA100?) a shot from here and it works well:
    https://www.amazon.com/Bovee-1000-Bl...rds=bovee+1000

See photo for my setup and how it works / looks.

    https://1drv.ms/i/s!AiF97hfoXIr4ldA6I0fEbNhReXaTnA

I use it with Spotify on an iPhone 7 on iOS 10.3 in a manual 2011 S4 Premium Plus with the Concert stereo.

    What works:
    - Reconnects automatically when I get in
    - Toggling repeat
    - Toggling shuffle
    - Skipping forward/back 10 seconds
    - Skipping forward/back a track
    - Displaying track name
    - Displaying track play time

However, it sometimes has problems. It doesn't always reconnect automatically and sometimes it's a pain to get it to connect and recognize that there is music that can be played. I think it works flawlessly with music stored on the iPhone, but sometimes connects and says "there are no tracks available to play on this device". Hitting the play button in Spotify makes it "play" (no sound) for about 1-2 seconds, then it pauses itself. Haven't yet figured out the trick. The majority of the time, there are no issues.

Anybody have success with any cheaper options? There are some AMI MMI 3G Bluetooth adapters available on ebay but none of them explicitly say they work with a B8 S4 with MMI 3G.

    Bovee 1000 https://www.amazon.com/Bovee-Wireles...language=en_US-

works fine for streaming. The only thing thats a pain in the ass is the phone stays connected to it even after you turn the car off an go inside (for like 20min). So if your listening to music in the car then want to connect to your sonos it takes a minute.
