    Stereo Issues, (Please help)

    Hey guys,

I don't post too much but i'm on the site everyday seeing whats up in the B7 forum, but today i need some help and of course i searched. So basically my stereo isn't working and i can't figure it out at all.

But first the specs: Symphony II Head unit and factory Bose sound system (bose sub disabled). I also have a 12 inch sub hooked up to a separate amp. I've had this setup for many years with no problems.

So what's going is while driving my stereo popped out my iPod cassette adapter and shutoff and wouldn't turn back on. I got to my friends house and checked the fuses and they were fine after pulling the radio fuses the head unit started back up. Where i'm stuck at now is the head unit will power on and the only thing it can do is change stations. There is no sound coming from anything and using either of the volume knobs does nothing the adjustment doesn't even show up on the screen. it wont let me reinsert my cassette adapter or play a CD and even after pulling the head unit and reentering the safety code nothing improved, i checked the factory Bose amp and the connection adapter was locked on tight. but its hard really hard to know if that is the problem. my shop is getting another symphony ii to use to see if that solves the problem. but im going crazy without my tunes so i hoped maybe someone on here could give me some insight to what the problem is or at least tell me if its the head unit or factory amp that is messed up.

    Thanks in advance,
    Andrew

Is there a separate fuse for the amp itself? My old S6 had this issue once and it ended up being the fuse for the amp. Also not sure if you have available, or if it will tell you anything, but vagcom definitely communicates to the II+ (not sure about II).

Nothing came up on vagcom, couldnt find any blown fuses either. unless theres one hiding by the amp, but its impossible to get a good look at it without removing the liner completly. Ill definetly check it out. Thanks
